Did I wake you?

As many of you know, I don't sleep that well most of the time. I have started a discussion or two about that in my years here. Well, today I need a small rant. Someone called and woke me from a nap. I rarely get one of those ever. My 23 month old keeps me hopping. He is phasing out his naps, a bit early if you ask me, but there it is. It was the"I thought surely you'dbe awake by now." Like I don't have kids or things that got me up this morning. As if I'd actually achieve the luxury of sleeping until noon. GRRRRRRR. Ever have a phone call make you mad? What was it about?

Hi ersmommy, My phone is one thing in my house that I hate. It does seem to ring at the most inopportune times such as, when I am in the shower or just gone to bed. I use to answer it every time it rang, only to find that it was a wrong number, solicitors, or a prank caller. I decided to take control. Anyone that I want to talk to I give my cellphone number. I turn the volume, on my home phone, to its lowest level (can't here it). I keep the message on. Now I don't know when someone is calling or when they leave a message I see the flashing light. I don't check the messages for days and when I do it is the same old none important callers. I know everyone will not or can not take this step of turning off their phones, but it has served me well.

I had a phone call one time in mid-afternoon. I was sleeping cuz i went to the gym earlier that day. It got me angry but turned out it was a job i applied for and would've been a phone initial interview. I shouted 'hello' when i answered. Didn't get the job.

I was waiting for a phone call from my sons or my friends one time, - oh more then one time - and those times the phone rang and guess what it was? "Hello are you satisfied with your present credit rate?'" "Do you want your carpet cleaned?" "Is this Clara (or Joan, or Laura or, etc.?" Well the only one I did not mind is the last example, but there was this woman who had no sense, she called me again and again, thinking I was someone else. And I was so mad, I snapped at her. The trouble with the first two examples, my sons have children and anyone of them might have had to go to the hospital, or my friends might have been coming over and had to say that they could not make it and were trying to reach me by cell or home phone.

Happens almost everytime I try to lie down. It's usually a solicitor or bill collector or something. Unless I know the number on the caller ID I usually let the machine pick it up and they usually hang up on my machine.

Oh gosh I sure hate the ones where they have called me at like 3 am and the first thing they ask is where you sleeping. Ughhh.. I was until you decided to wake me up. Or how about the text at like 6am, that says I hope you are not still sleeping.

i really let them have it, specially if its someone who know about my condition. i understand your frustration. its hard as it is with kids to even get a nap and their can be a lot of inconsiderate ppl, who many not think that its a big deal, oh but it is.
