Until what age is people considered young?

Well, i consider youth to be relative. I myself am 21 years old. I consider i am still young, i have a lot of projects for my life. I decided to quit college, i just found that study all of my life is not what i want, i feel college is too much effort for little payback. There are thousands of people that, even having a college degree, have hard time finding a GOOD job with a good payment also. Instead, i find that making a living of the internet is more confortable, and of course less estressing. When it comes to family, i really doubt about having childrens. Even im young, having childrens is not on my future projections. I have my girlfriend, we have talked about this a lot of times and both of us seems to want the same, we want our family to be only she and I. 21 years is still a young age, but i believe it's a good one to start thinking about one self future. What do you think? At 21 years old, do you think i am still young? Do you think college is really that worth nowadays? Do you think not having children is not right, because i'm not doing as most people do?

If you asked my daughter, 24 is old. Kidding aside, 21 is young, as well as 40 or 50, its a matter of attitude. In some aspects you sound very mature for your age. But college isn't forever. With the world economy being the way it is, definitely it would be to very hard to get a good paying job with or without a degree. But the economy fluctuates all the time. You may change your mind later in life in relation to your other questions, only time will tell. Just set some short and long term goals and be careful with what you find out there to make a living on the internet.

That's one of the things i've been thinking a lot. That, with or withouth a degree, it's hard to get a decent paying job. Maybe a degree wil give a higher chance, but not that much. I know of many people that, after getting out of college, having the best notes and grades, still don't have an idea of how hard the actual and REAL working world is. While there are others that, not having that incredibly high notes and grades, do know about the rigors of life and in the end they get a better position in working life. I have come to think college should NOT be considered the most important thing to get a good job or good income. College is, in my opinion, another tool that could be useful in life, not everything in life. I believe disciplined self-education is absolutely the best way to learn how life actually is. College will teach you things that you can't learn in other places, but that, being honest, rarely are useful in real life. Like for example, people studying programming, such as Xansus, do they really need all that math? Some even get Chemistry or other subjects that, in fact, are of little or no use whatsoever for programmers. Also, in my country the laboral market is very, very saturated of college graduates. I've been also thinking of better pick a technical career, an useful one, such as programming, hardware maintenance, economy, i don't know, something useful. I guess i exteneded myself too much, thanks for all your opinions, i believe i still have time to decide such important things.

I'm glad you're still considering studying something. From where I'm from a good plumber, refrigeration technician, electrician make more many than some professionals. But notice I said "good". Some said once, "if you dedicate to earn a living doing something you really love, you will do it very well and you will never have to work." Meaning that you won't see it as work. Good luck, you have all your life ahead of you.

at 21 you are still young, and you now free to decide for yourself without the help of your parents, you are now free to explore the world, but it is the beginning of being a man a real man that can stand all the challenges in life. and it is true, there are college graduates hard finding the job fits for them. but quiting college is not a good decision, you should continue and finish your study if you want to work in a company for higher position.

i think 21 should still be considered as young even though you are not that young anymore... i think it is a transition age... i disagree with your point of view about college... i think it is better for you to attend college now since you are still so young and you have lots of opportunities lying ahead of you... don't make the wrong decision and regret it later... as for having children, it is really your choice... you might change your mind as you get older though about having children... take care and have a nice day...

Hi friend, To Be Young, the age and what you do age at each stages of life are not the criteria. Its the energy to do thing perfectly, what we are doing or undertaking. I think, You are not wrong, until you do anything wrong to you. You always take decisions what you feel right. Take degree or not its your life and your decision. And,you have to live through, the way you select and show you are successful, atleast to yourself. Good Luck friend.

21 years is still young but you need to start thinking of what you want in life and making sure you are prepared for it. As for college I think you should study further and complete your college. Many a times it might happen that you might loose a really great job just because you did not have that piece of paper called graduation certificate. Please think again about your studies and best of luck for your future!!!

If you're a student now, you shouldn't quit your college. You can keep your projects and trying to implement them. But you also will need the knowleagues from college. You know, there are many successful person turned back the university to learn more. Why you must leave it while you're having chance to learn more?

Oh Habacucc, I hope you change your mind about college, because as someone who is fresh out of high school, you still have the "how to" in your head. I am an older college student who decided to go to college to get a degree and had to take even my best subject in DEV, (That's developmental for those who don't know) and those I am positive I past with flying colors, the stuff I forgot over the years, I had to relearn. As your age, you still know and remember. I suggest you stick with college and get a degree, don't wait like I did...

I agree that youth is relative and all a matter of perspective. When I was around ten, I thought that thirty was old. Now, I don't think it is old at all. My parents are in their late seventies, and they think that fifty is still young, although many people would consider it at least middle aged, so that pretty much proves that it is all a matter of perspective. I think that at 21 years old, you still have time to change your mind about a great many things including college and children. I also think that you should try to remain as open-minded about possibilities as you can, because ultimately it is ourselves that limit us more than others ever could limit us in our lives.

Well you are young if you feel it and to feel older i think you must be more then 35-40 . Thinking about children at that age (i'm almost 21 too) is early the time will come when you will change your mind i think ;) . About the education it really depends i started studying programing but they throwed tons of useless maths at me that i don't need (verrrrt little connected) i stoped and i'll start studing from the internet , well other professions need the education .
