Yes or sure, i will eat meals whenever and where ever i am travelling. It is advised to be healthy while travelling, 'cause when u go empty, u may experience a losing on the grip of being conscious. So, food alone keeps you healthy to be strong and reach the place where you want to be on your destination... So, i eat !!!!

That is true my friend, i could not disagree with that... Food is really needed to keep our body strong and healthy. So i could not really advice my way of having a comfortable trip, well i am use to it now, and i am honestly comfortable with it. But it is much better to eat something in such a long travel. Anyway, i have my bottle of gatorade, that help me though after that first 6 to 7 hours of sitting. Thank you so much for sharing and happy happy mylotting.:-);-)

I'm not used of taking meals especially in long trips. I need an hour or two after a meal before the travel otherwise it will make me throw up. And that would be so gross and messy.

You got my best response today my friend, oh yes really, maybe i can eat my meal 2 hours before my trip hahaha, yes that is it... Sometimes i am a minute person, or rushing on the last minutes all the time which is not good, and which i am trying to change all the time. I am comfortable with this already because i am having several long trips with stomach empty. Perhaps we can recommend this to every one my friend, taking the meal for hours before the miles trip away. Thank you for sharing and happy mylotting. See you more!!:-);-)

hi primeaque as I am a diabetic I have to eat so whenever I have a chance at rest stops on a long trip I will eat something light but nutritious and thus do not get low blood sugar which makes me extremely sick. so I do not go without eating so I will not end up in some strange hospital ith very low blood sugar.

Hello hatley how are you? I hope you have a nice weekend, i know you are enjoying lotting everyday... Oh yes, in your case, you have to eat and never skip meals my friend, with the prescribe meal i mean. I am used to it already so i am comfortable with it, many of us here have divided opinion though, but i would recommend everyone do what i do during a long trip. Thank you so much for sharing dear friend hatley.:-);-)

I for one would not like to skip a meal because I am on a long trip.Reason is because if I do not eat, I tend to get a headache and become uneasy. Also it does not make good sense to go hungry just because you will have trouble in your seat.I am sure if you are on a long travel taking at least twelve hours, then you would be having a reserved seat and also if it is a train you are traveling in then it must be having a place to answer nature's call.Even if it is a bus, I am sure they do make stops frequently so that the passengers can relieve themselves.I think if you are not eating while traveling, then you are just punishing your body and health.

You right there my friend. But in the first six hours in my trip there is only one bus stop. But it is really hard to relieve yourself there. But you are right there, we must not punish our body, we have no trains here, just buses... Maybe it is your choice to keep your stomach full or empty, sometimes people say it is better to take some light meal like boiled eggs and the like, but honestly i am comfortable with what i am doing. Thank you for sharing my friend and happy mylotting.

Yup I eat, especially when the trip is very long. I get hungry easily that is why I buy food for the trip. The sad thing is I should also buy some drinks for the food, which most likely will cause me to have an urge to urinate all the time, so that's not good.

That is what i am always avoiding my friend, that one thing too, urinating all the time... That i really dont like speciall night travel... We are crossing a vast forestry so it is not good for the bust to stop there, then if you feel like urinating then you have to put your enough courage to request the driver to stop the bus for a moment... I only buy my energy drink after the 6 hours of travel when i know there are many bus stops in terminals... Thank you for sharing and happy mylotting..:-);-)

I usually eat meal while having a long trip. If I feel hungry i have to eat something. I can't sit a long time keeping my stomach empty. It may lead to giddiness or headache. Usually when we go out, we buy food from out. I like to have this food, because there is a change from home made food.

I am comfortable having a long trip with stomach empty, perhaps i am used to this already. I have heard people, several people who are not into my idea., they need to eat at least light meal before having a trip. That is advisable, but in terms of buying foods specially in the bus stop let say viands or other cooked foods, i am really prohibiting myself in doing so because i have this damn sensitive degistive system. Thank you for sharing and happy mylotting there my friend...:-);-)

I eat a vegan diet and so I like to take along some vegan snacks to eat on a long journey by train or bus. Airlines sometimes don't have a good vegan option and on a short haul flight I wouldn't eat on that journey. For a long haul flight I would take and eat some of my own vegan snacks. I hope that you will have a wonderful trip.

Whenever I go to my hometown, it would take me 8 hours by bus to get there. So , I bring Snacks with me. Having food along with me makes me more comfortable, considering that you're just sitting for the entire trip. I am not a social person, some would open a conversation to the person next to him/her, but not me, I just enjoy the scenes along the way while munching food!

You get to work as early as 2am sometimes sis? Wow, that is not easy, you impressed me, really. Okay back to plaridel, we have also many relatives then, the aques hehehe, they even messaged me at facebook when i wrote to my wall that i am going there, but i had no time though as i have my work here to, and i am not really into an absent issue hehehe. I am afraid travelling at night sis because most deadly accidents happened. I am so afraid that drivers would asleep while driving. And when i got to cagayan, we heard that one airconditioned bus tumbled in the highway 2 saturday early morning, lights are off except with the dim one, and drivers may fall asleep while driving, sometimes rubbing, worst...:-C

Plaridel,..i miss that place. I've been visiting that place when i was young, some of my granma's relatives lives there. And why you are afraid of travelling at night dear bro? I always love travelling at night,it's less traffic. Everytime i visit my hometown (Baguio) we always travel at night,it's a 6 hours trip by bus from here in Metro. Sometimes we also use our own car and it's not scary travelling at night,my kids love it as much i love (less traffic and more convenient) Not to mention that my work doesn't have fixed time schedule, sometimes i go to work as early as 2am.

Yes, I do chew on sweets on long journey. On long train journeys they sells noodles and coconut milk rice when the train stops. So we can eat it at the place we sit. Sort of make the journey short,in a way. That's my feeling.

Yes i chew some menthol candy, that would help but no more noodles. Different people have different approach while having a long trip, that i see in your responses here... And i guess your public vehicles have this advanced designed like having comfort rooms already.. Am i right? Here in our place, bus has no comfort rooms, so it is really hard... If you feel like releasing then you have to request a hault or wait for the next station... Thank you for sharing my friend and happy mylotting. See you.:-):-)

Many people do that at every bus stop my friend, when having a long trip, drivers would usually take their meals at particular bus stops... When it is not necessary to get out, i would remain in my seat, sometimes when their is some quarantine thing, then i have to get out and by some menthol candies. Thats all, my stomach is sensitive to foods so i am really choosy as i dont want to have any trouble along my way causing me to suffer on my seat. Thank you for sharing and happy mylotting.:-):-)

Motion sickness, so far, i do not experience such. There is just one time i have so much trouble with my tummy for eating a rice and durian candy. After that, i make sure it would never happen again, so i keep my stomach empty while having a long hours of ride, it safer this way. I hope you can manage travelling a long hours without getting sick... I dont want you to get sick you know. And the weather is still so bad here. How are you my B? Thank you for the nice sharing and happy mylotting. Regards me to the two funny brats.:-):-D

When i was having a long trip in a bus or a train,i seldom eat meals.I think the meals on the bus or train is bad to taste.I was hard to eat them. The quality of the dishes on train or bus are too bad
• Philippines
1 Dec 10
Yes, i am also trying to mind the quality, the taste i dont care much, i am very particular to the cleanliness specially that i am in a long trip. I have a bit sensitive stomach, this would respond to some foods new to me. I am really avoiding to have some trouble inside the bus as i will be requesting the driver to have some hault when i get some trouble, that would be embarrasing to the othe passenger for sure. Thank you for sharing and happy mylotting.:-):-)

At the moment i go to the gym and can't miss a meal , so yes. I have done it in my early years i will keep eating now , aswell.
• Philippines

That is good for you my friend, our body needs food, and specially that you are going to the gym, your body is taking more energy from you, so you have to eat healthy foods, sometimes there are people who go to the gym and starve themselves, for me that is not advisable. As you have to have the fuel to do the exercise, you will be getting weak if you are not going to eat. Thank you for sharing and happy mylotting. Have a nice day ahead. See you.:-):-)

I avoid eating meals when on a long journey. But especially kids would love to eat when on a long journey travelling. They like to munch something or the other while travelling. They cannot play in the bus, so like to munch all the time and sleep

Thank you for sharing my friend. Sometimes though we know that the meal is prepared safely and clean, but when we are not used to it, or something that our nice little tummy cannot take or refuse to take it, we then surely experience some trouble, and from that time we would fine some place like comfort room, luckily planes have livable comfort rooms so no big problem with you, but here, busses have no rooms for comfort so you have to get out and hide in the bushes, hahaha. Again, thank you for the nice sharing and happy mylotting always.:-):-D

Hello prime, Battery ? Ok i see, you use your phone to mylot at times, that is nice. Yeah your browser will eat up your battery quite soon. Wish you had an SMS alert for getting responses to your discussion. Your battery would drain, reading the responses. If you ask me, i rather like to keep myself with eating. I get my own stuff to eat, although i don't like to eat while others are just staring at me. That is one of the reasons i would always apply for the upper berth, and i like it there, alone, reading eating, doing whatever i like. I can't seem to help my appetite for tea when i am traveling in the train.

Hello there my friend, i was home already monday early morning at 5. I got a 24 hour round trip, tiring right? Oh yes, i am using my phone, and even here in the office that internet connection is not this stable, i am using my phone. I earn cents from my phone each day without paying for connection. And bank to the trip, i was really empty the first 6 hours of my trip... Then i bought some energy drink and that sustain me the whole trip till i arrived at the area, i was just afraid of my damn tummy to get some nasty trouble sometimes. Thank you for sharing and happy mylotting.:-):-)

Hi, The longest trip I ever been is by air(on flight),it was 7 hours trip and I was taking night flight. So I did have my meal on board and in the middle of the night. I still feel fine for it as I was getting hungry too. As for train trip, I remembered when I was young, I did take a train to my grandmother's house, it was about 3 hours trip and during the journey, I did ate lot of foods (those spicy food).

Oh, that was a very long travel via plane my friend... I am sure you are having a trip hundreds of miles away from home. Are you from where my friend? And when we were young, we really love eating, and we dont care about having trouble in a trip, am i right? When i was young too, i do love eating, when i can see delicious food, then i would request for my mother right then... Thank you for sharing my friend and happy happy mylotting.:-):-)

In my case I do. It is simply because when you are in a trip there is no guarantee if you would be able to get something to eat you get starved. I get to eat a heavy meal before leaving and don't eat anything in the duration of the trip.
• Philippines
30 Nov 10
So you eat heavy meal how many hours before the trip? It is not good for me to eat heavy meal because i usually sufferead stomach pain or something, and that maybe worsen by the temperature of the bus that is freezing. But it is really good to keep something for emergency cases., yet here, there a lot of food to buy in every stations. I am just comfortable in not eating anything during my longest travel, just the bottle of energy drink. Thank your for sharing and happy happy mylotting.:-):-)

Why? is eating inside a bus/train forbidden? What if you're hunger? you wouldn't it? unless you don't have a meal in your bag.
• Philippines
29 Nov 10
I prefer not having any, and i used to left home without taking my meal, because thats my way of avoiding stomach trouble while in a long trip, fortunately i can manage my hunger, sometimes i bought a bottle of energy drinks in one of the bus stop or station. I guess you have comfort rooms in your busses, but here our clean busses do not have any so it is really something funny and hassle or burden to get the bus stop when you really need a place to release the trouble inside you... Well that is for me, it is not applicable to every one, thank you for sharing and happy mylotting.:-):-)
