The Christmas is coming. What do you prepare for Christmas? Especially in the first year of financial crisis!

Christmas is an important religious celebration in our family. This is the only occasion where there is a free flow of foods and drinks. We usually don't prepare our own foods but ask the caterers to supply the food as everyone wants to enjoy the merry making during this festive season.

It sounds good! However, what do you often do during Christmas? I think there are must be some difference from the West.

After attending mass service, we'll have lunch and receive guests. Later part in the afternoon, we have santa coming to distribute gifts to the kids. We usually have open house during christmas where people just drop by and enjoy the foods served.

I don’t do a great deal to prepare for Christmas once I’ve done my gift shopping because I am not usually the one who hosts Christmas lunch. In my family we generally do a New Year’s Eve barbecue and my mother or sister take care of the Christmas meals. Right now my shopping is done and all I need to worry about is wrapping everything!

I think we plan to have usual things for Xmas, friends around us, plenty food and soft drinks, many cards to send, and a happy time with the family. I will strive to spend less this year!

I think your Xmas is colourful. By the way, why would you strive to spend less this year? Only because of financial crisis.

By preparations, do you mean everything, or do you specifically want to know what food we prepare? My husband and I are leaving town this year, and staying in a nice hotel, just enjoying a vacation to ourselves this year.

What do you mean, what do you prepare? Like food-wise or presents-wise? Ah, well, I feel like even on a budget, Christmas can definitely still be fun. Just spending time with your loved ones & family is fun enough if you ask me. One year we had spaghetti for our big Christmas dinner, another year we had tacos. I think we're going back to having ham (I don't eat it, but still), potatoes, and the whole she-bang this year, though. And we all are on a budget as far as Christmas presents go, and that's never usually a problem because we're such a small family. So, even in financial crisis..You can still have a good time!

I just want to know that how the financial crisis influences on your live. The price of daily necessities has raised so much in China. However, the Spring Festival is also very jubilant! Merry Christmas day!

Over here, we don't really celebrate christmas especially my family. When it comes to christmas, it's either i spend time with my bf and his family, or just with my bf alone. When i'm young and single, i will spend my christmas with friends, going out in one big group. However, as i age, i find that spending christmas alone is not a bad idea after all too.
