I have several email accounts and use a program called IncrediMail (kinda like Outlook Express) to download all of my emails so that I can go through them later. I have 4 email accounts, but the program only downloads from 3 of them - the other is a gmail and has unlimited storage so it doesn't need to be checked a couple of times a week like the others, even so, it has been spammed which just drives up the number of un-read emails =( Being a mum of two boys with autism, there simply isn't any time to sit down during the day to read them. Even when they are at school/kindy, there is always HEAPS that needs to be done - it just never ends =) Which means that I don't get to go through all the emails that have been downloaded. This evening, I was shocked to see that I had over 6000 un-read emails, from ONE account only! EEECCCKKK!! I scrolled down the page to discover that some of them dated back to Jan 2009. . . With the other two accounts, well, one had over 2000 whilst the other only had about 1000 un-read emails. I honestly didn't think that life had become THAT busy . . . =D Do you use a program, like IncrediMail or Outlook, so that you can look at them later on? Do you regularly check your emails thoroughly, dealing with the subject matter right away so that you are able to delete the message? Or, like me, do you have all good intentions of going through them but find that there is always other things that NEED to be done? Thanks =D

LoL, you beat me on the unread e-mails front. In comparison, I have a measly 4900 unread e-mails in my Inbox. The majority of those e-mails are newsletters and special offers. I should really setup the mail filters, but they're not always from the same senders. Just checked, I've got unread e-mails from 2004!!! I beat you on that one, LoL...

My systems, internet access devices are on, mostly 24x7... the problem is that I get more than 200-300 mails a day (besides spam and the mails that my filters redirect to some of my other email ids), and it is not possible to read and respond to all the mails... I get mails on my iPhone and Blackberry (I have multiple mobile numbers) and I have a laptop and desktop, but no time to really check all the mails... I used Outlook a few years ago - this before cloud services, and once, lost all the downloaded mail because my hard disk crashed, from that time I have stopped using such services.... I switch to a new email account once an Inbox (as in the case of gmail) exceeds the total capacity offered by that service- I reroute the mails to my new email address and generally 10GB (what gmail currently offers) is good enough for me about 12-18 months..

I have some email accounts, but I do not check them every day. When I remember it, I will check it. Sometimes I forget my password and however hard I try, it won't work, which makes me frustrated. I even lost some accounts because of this. So I think that it is a good idea to frequently check my emails so that I won't lose them. Thanks for the discussion.

I use Outlook Express, and I filter most of my emails into 'things that need to be done when I'm in certain moods' (and I'm usually in a myLotting kinda mood ) I'm also in a Facebooking mood most days, sometimes an Other Social Networking mood, and so on ...

I check my emails everyday. Sometimes when I can across an unimportant email, I will just leave it there. With times, I do have a heap of unread emails to clear. I am using gmail for the information.
