Facebook at work.

That's awesome! i hope my employers will also consider to legalized facebook at work but i doubt =(. as they say all non work-related sites are prohibited! though it's true that it can possibly distract the operations, i hope they are to consider that it can also relieve tension and get relaxed, take time out! But really it's impossible!

I think companies are more open-minded these days. Maybe the reason why they permit Facebook usage is because they want some social networking connections within the company and maybe with potential customers. It's Facebook and it makes it so easy to connect with others!

It could be a way to track you, but it also could be a way to make the employees happier. Sure at first facebook might be used too much, but maybe it's in the mind of your employers that if their workers are allowed some social time at work, their work productivity will increase over time, and thus it would be a win - win situation.

I guess there is nothing wrong with using Facebook when you are at work. I think many employers would get mad if their employees were using Facebook during company time because it will make them less productive. I would be afraid of getting fired if I was using Facebook or some other social networking site when I am supposed to working on stuff.

I do not have facebook at work. I am actually surprised that I continue to be able to access mylot. Other sites similar to this one are blocked at work as well. Since I work in a school, I understand the need to protect the students.

Actually most of the company here in the Philippines allowed their staff to use Facebook at the office. I think all HR nowadays her in our country make used of this site for background checking for the new employees but mostly for new applicants. Instead of using the old fashion way of background checking like calling your preferences, they now use FB to check on you. For me i guess there's nothing wrong on using Facebook like for HR purposes but to allow all other staff to use FB during office work is not good idea. I still consider this a distraction at work. We all know the moment we get to put our hands down on FB we almost forget the time. So you think your staff could possibly work better or just even the same like before when you allow them to use FB during office hours? For me i don't agree with that, i guess i'll allow them to use that during breaks but not during time of work. Exemption to the HR personnels.

I have never worked anywhere where they have allowed facebook, I was in one place where it was possible to get on facebook but as soon as they realised they blocked the site. I guess they knew there would be some people who abused it.

That is the good situation for you but friendly advice don't abuse of being legal at work, you know what I mean. Here in our office actually legal but not really public announcement because might be other will abuse it. I can use FB any time here for simple as that, however I respect the nature of work and personal.. see you around

You are so lucky,having a good boss . I haven't had a formal job,what I have done were all part time job,but I heard many people say that their boss don't allow them doing their own thing . From this thing we can see that big companies are pay more and more attention on employers' mood,which will actually help to promote the relationship between them
