Some persons have a strange habit of grinding and crunching their teeth during sleep at night. It is highly surprising and is least understood by many of us. They are teeth grinders. After all, they do this in their sleep, when they are not aware of it. Does it's cause relate to mounting pressure of emotional and psychological stress or something else? Does it reveal some symptoms of abnormal personality or behavior?

Si narayan, I think that it's often caused by stress and anxiety and some people do it when they are awake. When it happens during sleep and is more likely caused by an abnormal bite or missing or crooked teeth, although it don't have to be. It could be that they are experiencing anxiety because of a nightmare or bad dream. Blessings.

Thanks for sharing your well articulated thoughts. Excessive stress and anxiety may be the prime causes of such unusual habit. Have a nice day!!

The involuntary grinding of teeth during sleep is clinically called bruxism.. there a no established correlation between stress and any psychological disorders yet.
