What will you teach your children this Christmas Season. On of the things I teach my two girls. I have them make a list. We go through it and I ask them what is one item that they could do without. Then we go to the mall buy that item and give it to the toy fund. It teaches them to give and it teaches that there are children out there less fortunate than them and if they can they should help those people and children. a little act of kindness, giving, and it teaches them not to be selfish I hope. God Bless

The most important lesson that I think I can teach to my children during the holiday season is the lesson of charity toward others. We are definitely not wealthy people, but we do like to donate where we can. This year while they were doing a huge drive here in town, we took a huge bag of clothes that the children have outgrown and donated them to the local homeless shelter. Now, the kids are working on cleaning up their rooms in preparation of the new things that they will be getting for their birthday and Christmas and they are starting a tote of toys to donate without my asking them to do it.

That is a great leasson to teach our children. I try to tell my daughter to appreciate the meaning of Christmas and although we enjoy the gifts, it is not the reason we have the holiday. She makes a lot of gifts as well so that they have some meaning to the ones who get them.
