depressed about eating habits

I just qualified for a medical study for binge eating. My eating habits are bad which is why I tried to sign up for the study. The girl who was qualifying me asked if I was depressed I told her no I was not clinically depressed. But as the interview went on, I really did start getting depressed. We started talking about my habits and I explained that it's not so much as I gorge myself, but If there's a half gallon of ice cream in the freezer, I will keep going into the kitchen the whole day getting a bowl till it's gone. So now I'm all bummed out. It's kind of funny the drug they are testing is used right now on alcoholics. They think it might have the same effect on people who can't control their eating - which I obviously can't as I look into the empty bag of popcorn and contemplate popping another....If food just didn't taste so darn good... Does anyone else out there have that problem? not binge eating like you have to eat a lot at one time, but that you just have this need to eat it till it's gone?
