If you have to press F1 key to continue to booting your computer then it mean there is something wrong with your computer. Computer in booting state usually check itself starting from checking bios, memory, and peripherals. If there is one have a problem then computer will stop booting and ask to you to check or press F1 key to bypass it. Common problem usually CMOS battery need replacing. The indication is date and hour always reset to default condition every time the computer turned off. Error in keyboard or mouse may cause this problem. Changing in memory size may also resulting this error. So, you should check it out by entering bios setup and verify which item have the problem. Usually, by pressing del button or F2 key, you enter to bios setup. The button may vary depend on the mainboard or chipset that used by your computer. Usually, it will show you the appropriate button to enter bios setup.

Dear this happens due to many reasons: 1 The CMOS Battery's power is gone (discharged). You many notice that time remains the same of year round 2004-5 each time u log on. Solution: Replace the battery. 2 Instruction from BIOS. Check the bios for something like" DO not start if: NO Keyboard" and change it. Many times the bios is instructed to check each time keyboard is there and working nicely, so to do tht it asks for f1 key. If these help then its good. Else tell us again. When computer are booting, they need we to "press F1 key to boot"? right? If it happened like that, you must replace your CMOS battery. It's location is in your main-board. When you replace battery, you go to CMOS and adjust date/time. Then you save configuration and reboot. It will be OK dear!
