Since I've started myLot again, I noticed that the average response to worthwhile discussions is now around 10. Is it just me or are the active of users of myLot dwindling? I know there are still a lot of myLot members but are they participating less now then they used to? I hope its just me though *sigh*

There are a few reasons why a discussion may only average a certain amount of responses.A lot depends on the "category"one puts their discussion in. "Life" and "Questions&Answers" seem to be the most popular categories here, so of course will attract more responses. Also, the time of day one posts a discussion is a factor as well.i would think a lot more people are here at night, since many have jobs and other activitities during the day, so if a discussion is posted early in the day, it may be missed by anyone logging in late. One more thing i feel is a real factor in not getting many responses is, those who post discussions and leave no replies to their responders. Many people, including myself, will not respond to a discussion if i notice this, as i feel the one who started the thread didn't care enough to answer his or her replies.

I will look into Q&A and Life. I would also try to look into the time the discussions were posted.
As you can see I am one of those that try to continue discussions I post to the very end... *smile* But I do agree with you that there are some users who are just posting discussions without following through the comment/responses of others. It would be better to comment on responses as well.

I wish more members understood how important it is to respond to those who took the time to reply to their discussions.i'm not here very long but i do see a lot of newbies who start discussions and then just leave them without one reply to those who commented,it's so good to hear you're someon who will follow up on your posts, that's the way it should be.

That's why we call it discussions right? *wink* Otherwise we should just call it a Bulletin Board! LOL
I agree with you as well, that would make posting a discussion worthwhile not letting other members discuss it for you.

There are a lot of active users on mylot. There are also a lot of interest, so maybe the individuals you are missing are on different topics. Also, if you look at the email you are registered with you have an option of seeing the discussions that your friends have started as well as the ones they have responded to.

Yeah I guess the people myLotting before I temporarily stopped have also stopped. And those that are left have few interests in common with me. I have since then activated the email options again and started to be more active, I do notice familiar names in different interests and as such I have began broadening my interest list as well

I just started using myLot as well, well not exactly, I just started using it again is proper. But you do have a point, it seems that the interest of the masses is a little different than mine and people would answer questions that they know something about. But I'd still like to stick to what interests me... *smile* otherwise, myLot would become a little boring for me if I just post for the sake of posting and starting a discussion.
