Yes it is perfectly fine as long as she is using a LCD screen (flat screen) monitor and is comfortably when sitting and typing. The old monitors and televisions had Cathode Ray Tubes (the big bulky heavy ones) and there used to be a theory that the ERM Electromagnetic Radiation that they emitted could have been dangerous when in close proximity.

No, it is not a problem anymore because the new LCS monitor does not have radiation, an doctor said it to me some time ago, but you need to know if her monitor are LCD or those "big ones" of the old times, if it is one, it is better not to stay long in front of it.

I used my computer that I used to have and my laptop when I was pregnant with my son in 2006-7 and my daughter in 2008-9. In pregnancy I liked to use on sites I regularly use like My Lot, Baby Center and look at my emails. Some ladies do a job that requires them to work on a computer from 9 to 5 Monday to Friday. The computer doesn't harm the lady or her baby in pregnancy I think. I thin your friend would be fine to use her computer a light to moderate amount in her pregnancy.

If you are referring to a desktop computer, it produces more radiation than laptop computers, thus it is dangerous. It could harm the baby but we're really not sure what the effect would be. However, there's no proof what the effect of using computers to the mothers are but we just have to be cautious and try to avoid the danger.

When I was pregnant, I couldn't resist surfing so I have the least time spending in front o f my personal computer. Well, it did not affect my baby. However, take this from a nursing student, it is not advisable. Radiation can greatly affect the growth of the fetus... I was just lucky, it did not affect my baby a bit.

No it isn't. I think it's because of the radiation or something.
