In the United States, there are many people who as of this week will have lost there unemployment benefits. I have not encountered that due to having a steady work, but I have many friends and family members who have. It is really disheartening to see something like that happen, especially around the holidays. Have you or has someone you know are among the people who have lost their unemployment benefits?

No one in my famiy has experienced this yet but my son-in-law is coming close to running out of his unemployment benefits. He doesn't get them from the state since he worked for a railroad but he would have qualified for any extension that was granted. I agree that this is the worst possible time for what is often a family's only source of income to run out.

It is very disheartening that this is happening in. I hope that 2011 will be better for people. Call it being foolishly optimistic, but being foolishly optimistic is about the only way to keep sane. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.
