President Yudhoyono and Sultan Hamengkubuwono X argued about the status of the privilege of Yogyakarta. This is the aftermath of the settlement bill stagnant privilege of Yogyakarta. Yudhoyono said "There can be no monarchy in the government system of Indonesia." This statement was drawn protests from the people of Yogyakarta. They fight; mewacanakan referendum to bring a passport bearing the distinctive Ngayogyakarta Keraton Yogya. For them Privileges Yogyakarta is a form of democracy. No need to elections, to establish the Governor and his deputy. That's why people's wishes. So, what lies behind the government's desire to change the system privileges Yogyakarta? Is the democratic system can receive the privilege of Yogyakarta ?

I agree with the president. Monarchy "kingdom" within a democratic country is irrational. Why should Yogyakarta has that priviledge? The people need to educate their selves about what democracy is. The kingdom itself is not a form of democracy, let alone the no election kind of thing.

an intelligent response, citra. I like your response. Your response its true, actually, Sultan and Pakualam should have the wisdom national. Don't always just speak the local wisdom. They should think that they are in a unitary state, not federation country

Yeah, right. Everyone's opinion for the best. But unfortunately, most think only in the context of local knowledge, rather than national wisdom. Yogyakarta should not ask for recognition of the privilege because Indonesia is made up of several tribes and kingdoms in the archipelago until today still exist. Not only Yogyakarta !!

I do not know what the purpose of government, the disturbing feature of Yogyakarta. As citizens of Yogyakarta, I do not agree if the privilege of Yogyakarta on the pull. I believe all citizens of Yogyakarta, also do not agree. If the election of governor and deputy governor were held, I am sure many people who do not use their right to vote.

so, do you also agree if the office of governor and deputy governor was carried down through the generations? What if the governor of Yogyakarta do corruption while other side he served as the king who respected and should not be resisted by the people?
