Lap top screen issues

Well, it is Dell vostro 1014 model. I thin line is appeared on the screen just above the start button. Any body know that reason?

Has it been dropped? Or does it look liek the pixels are dying?

no... i mean did not drop it or did not hit any where. Single thin horizontal line. the colour of line is white but colour changes.

Since you say no direct bumping to the monitor screen, maybe it could be the monitor is going bad and or your graphic card.

well, it sounds familiar. i have suffered it too. my laptop has a thin line at the low side of the screen. it's very thin yeah. first time i found it after my laptop was crashed. crashed means blue screen. after the blue screen, my laptop was restarted automatically, and after i reboot it, the line appears suddenly. i dont like it, really. another possibilities, your laptop must be dropped down, or collided with something strong. remember it? :)
