I disagree...windows xp interface is one of the best user friendly one out there....very little flaws and windows 7 still has so many errors and stuff

Hi Asliah. I have two computers one is XP and the other is Vista. I like the one that is XP it is simpler to use. I haven't used windows 7 yet and can't tell you much about it. But I really do like XP better then Vista. Good luck my friend.

I recommend that you choose win7 to be the operating system.Since your laptop is new,I think it's hardware is pretty good and it is enough to run win7.I choose windows XP for the reason that my computer is old and it's RAM is not sufficent.Besides,as you already know,win7 has good looks and may give you new experience. So just make the choice that you think is the most suitable to your laptop.

it's depend on your goal, if you use much old software, you better not use windows 7, some old software not compatible for w7. i use XP until now because I don't care about "nice" look on w7. I just want my windows run well and fast with my notebook. then, it depend on your goal and feel.

I was a confirmed advocate for Windows XP and had no intention of changing to Vista. Then I bought my wife a new computer with Windows 7. I learned how it works in the process of setting up her machine and quickly became a convert. I now have Windows 7 on my machine as well, and it is excellent. Microsoft got it right this time.

I received my new laptop in few days ago too. My laptop is Dell with 4GB Ram. ha! ha! ha! My laptop has already installed with the Winndows 7 home premium. For you, I suggest you to select the operating system which you are familiar with. For instance, my nephew bougth a laptop with the Windows Vista. Because of his preference, he was willing to pay and downgraded to Windows XP which he was familiar with. For cost saving, it is good to install the free Linux. As what I have heard, this system is about the same as the Windows. I hope you will enjoy using it.

Hi asliah! I'm a Windows 7 user, I also used Windows XP before. Windows 7 has much better graphics and behaviors than of XP. XP too is good when it comes to performance. Since your laptop is a new model, it can run in Windows 7 smoothly. Though Windows 7 has some compatibility issues with some softwares and hardwares, if ever you encounter those problems, I would recommend you to use Vista drivers then install it using the hardware manager, it do work for me. I only recommend XP for those who had older models or those who had legacy hardwares since XP works best in those. Happy Mylotting!

I think I would put the windows XP on it because I have heard a lot of mixed opinions about windows 7. My dad for example he is a computer tech and he only uses windows XP he says that the new windows 7 has too many bugs on it and it doesn't work with all the things that he wants and needs to do on it. Of course I am not expert on that type of thing but I am used to the windows XP and very familiar with it so I just use that one. I hope this helps and that you can get the right system running for you.

To put it simply, windows Xp is older, so u might not be able to use certain problems. But, it does mean that xp is less demanding on the computers system. I would recommened windows 7 though, as you have a 2gb laptop, and that is quite powerful, so you may as well go for the better system.
