So I was working yesterday and there was a diabetic education class being held downstairs in the conference room. After the class ended the instructor came up to where I was working and asked if anyone had seen 90 dollars in money that one of her patients had lost it. Nobody had turned anything in to us and I didn't see anything in are lobby. So the patient came back and asked us if we seen any money and we said no. Now mind you I would never carry that much money on me in a public place. I don't even carry cash on me at all. We are thinking someone else probably found it and just took the money...Now my reason for this post is my question is if you saw a wad of money would you take it or would you be the good person and turn it in to authorities? Me I would turn the money in because it's not mine and why spend it knowing its someone elses and they really needed it? Some people are harsh and don't care about others. But please treat other peoples stuff with respec and do the right thing and turn it in if you know its not yours :).

If you turn the monies into the authorities after 30 days the money doesn't get claimed then someone pockets it anyways. So I wouldn't even bother turning it in. I would pocket the cash and call it a day! I would chaulk it up as a win for me and a loss for them. I have misplaced money before and if you lose money you shouldn't even bother looking for it cause no one these days is going to say if they have picked it up or not. In all honesty I could have easily have picked the cash up and threw it in my pocket and just went on about my day. I just honestly don't believe that anyone would turn the money back into me so I don't see why I would give anyone else the pleasure or trying to hunt them down. Now if I had found a wallet and the wallet had cash and there was an address and stuff in it I would go out of my way to help that person cause I know who it was that dropped it. Chances are they would want their wallet back I know I would.

It is morally correct to turn the money in and return it to the person. If I found money I would return it if someone's looking for it. But if nobody looks for it, then I'll spend it. I have posted in one of the discussions almost similar to this one that i found money on the street before and we kept it to ourselves. Nobody looked for that money and it was spread out on the street late in the evening.

pEOPLE are generally good, but, sometimes they can't avoid temptations...

If I found someone else wallet or purse in with ID or it was identifiable in I would hand it in. I have lost my own wallet and know the amount of hassle and inconvinience it can cause. That said if it was just a wad of money chances are I would most likely take it, if someone came forward saying they had lost it I would give it back but with just money it is hard to know if it actually belongs to that person or not (unlass it was lost in a very specific place). The other option of course is to keep it a while to see if anyone comes forward then if not donate it to charity.

Hello friend, i always give back money, if i know who is the owner. I mean if it is some place, where someone was before me. Once i found 10$ in front of one bank and i took them, because there was ATM. So i was sure that someone left them, because of using the ATM and counting how much he got from the ATM. I was sure that if i give the money in the bank, some of the girls will take them as a present, so i took the money for myself. I had great meal and good day then. But if someone loose money where i am right now and i know that he was here before me, i'll 100% give him the money. I know that i can't be sure who is the owner of the money, if many people were where i am right now, but if someone is looking for them, may be he checked and saw that the money are missing from his pockets or wallet, so it's normal, for me.

Hehehe, well I kinda feel bad for the person who lost 90 bucks! I mean that's a lot of dough. Anyway I know its harsh but i would take it...i would think of it as a heavenly sign if you know what I mean. In the recession going on a little extra cash wouldn't hurt. To think that person would of been wealthy to have loose bills hanging about

When I was a kid I would take money if I saw it on the street because I was little then and din't know anything. But now that i'm older and know you have to work for what you want I don't take things I know that isn't mine. So if I see a wad of money like that i'll turn it in to where I found it..

ya for sure a honest person will always do that..always return it back to the right person..but i would prefer to return the money to its real earner by my own hands rather than handing it to an other person or authority..who knows he/she will return it to the person or not.

I agree. I would take it to the authorities. I actually had a friend at my last job who found a customers purse the lady gave her a hundred dollars for returning it!!
