Because I ever want to help an accident victim who is dying .. but people around the incident said "should wait for the police first." * What is the procedure must be like that? * Does not immediately help the victims would make more long-suffering and may result in loss of life? * Do you think I am doing false? * Try, you imagine the victim is one of a family member or friend of you? * Are you still waiting for police to come, or soon to help the victim? thank you

Unfortunately sometimes when you help people who suffered an accident you can make the situation worse... or sometimes they accuse you of being the cause of the accident... so even though I really wanna help I usually just ignore the scene and move on... I once helped a kid who feel off the bike and his parents were very angry because they thought I had caused the accident...

Hi, I know how yo feel, I've been to situations like that but I know I know I'm not capable of helping so I don't do anything but pray for the person. Because there are certain procedures that must be done and should only be done by medical experts like nurse or medical aid. And yes, like what the other post says here, helping without the basic first aid knowledge may worsen the situation. The only way that we can help is to report the authorities and call for help. Stay with the person until the aid arrives and pray. That might help the person.

You can give the victim some temporary care or what we call first aid. You cannot watch the person dying as he/ she waits for the rescuers. Not all the time, you can ignore it. Even if you say you were blamed for what you didn't do, you must help. Why?, can't you defend yourself?, it is not a necessary reason. But forget it. You can help in such a way like the following: 1. You can perform simple checks like checking if the victim is breathing or not, is bleeding, or in shock. 2. If the victim suffers from difficulty in breathing, loosen his/ her clothing or belt. 3. If the victim is unconscious, never give water or any liquid to him/ her. It can cause choking. 4. Don't discuss to the victim about his/ her injury. He / she will become depressed if you did so. 5. Control the crowd and don't panic while assisting the victim.

huh! I just wanna to say that you are well-meaning and virtuous.but I think what we do should be decided by different situation.a person who be hurt deeply in an accident usually should not be touch in first time ,for example the fracture person. So if you really want to help someone, the best way is call the first-aid phone at first time. Certainly, if someone is pined or locked by some stuff you can help them to be divorced from jeopardy firstly.

police always come late. i don't care if there are police mylotters but that's the fact. they only at peace not a peacemaker. the first thing i do if i am in that situation is to bring that dying patient to the nearest hospital or ask some help from those people who knows first aid..

Of course while seeing a accident case anybody wants to help the victim but what the problem is we should wait for the police.Buut i dont think so because victim may die as he/she may be emergency condition. Thus you are correct in your decision.I would hacve helped the victim if i were you

You have to be careful how you help them. It's not really the police that need to be waited for, but ambulances for medical help. Sometimes moving someone can hurt them even more, so best to leave that to the professionals. The best thing to do is call an ambulance/medic and make sure the person isn't in any more physical danger where they are. It's a matter of whether someone's help might make the situation worse. Which could happen if someone, with the best of intentions, tries to help and doesn't really know what they're doing. You can also search online to find out the best things for an average person to do if they see someone who's been in an accident. Obviously you can't do it if you're already at the scene, but while you're online talking about it you can. That way if you ever are at an accident, you'll have an idea of ways you can help without hurting someone. If you know the person is in immediate danger and they will die unless someone helps right then and there then you should go ahead and take action. Otherwise, the best way to help is to call the people whose job it is to help and then stay with the victim until help arrives.

sometimes it helps to wait for the police and sometimes it doesn't. If you already know the first aid then you should take action. But if you don't you might also apply severe damage to the victim. technology today are at it's best, if you are only one, what you should do is to take a camera/video shot at every angle, in this way you can record what's the initial situation before you move the victim. Accident is unexpected thus reactions also are the unexpected just the same.

I think these response should be by case to case. If I do have certification or knowledge on first aid (as if I know what I'm doing), and nobody around seems helping, please do help them in any way you can. Despite of that, there are some accident situations whereby you just have to wait for the professionals, as in like, you do not know what you should perform in order to chip in contribution in saving life. Without any medical knowledge and do not know how to perform to save the situation, please leave it to the professional. You may never know what you do could make the situation worse. Its all about your own judgement. I bet everyone in that situation just want the victim to be okay in any way possible.
