I saw in our church bulletin that today is St. Nicholas Day, and I am interested in learning more about this holiday. Do any mylotters celebrate this holiday, and, if so, how do you celebrate it?

Never have celebrated St. Nicholas Day. Is your church by any chance Orthodox? Don't know why, the notion that there might be a connection popped into my mind.

No, Catholic. I think St. Nicholas Day originated in Scandinavia or the Netherlands, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

I guess that makes sense. I should have been thinking Catholic, since the Catholic church has more saints. However, I think the Greek orthodox church celebrates the modified Christmas season, ending on Jan 6.

Well, I guess I'll have to do some research and see what it's all about!
