This club has been one of the most influential in the premier league with the most number of league wins they were the most dominant team in the 80s and 90s but their poor form has been haunting them for 2 years after they came 2nd to manu. But their current win aston villa and their win with the champions earlier explains that they have what it takes to be atleast in the top 4.What do you guys think how far they will go this year??

Im a 19 year old Liverpool fan and I personally believe Roy Hodgson isn't the man to take us forwards. As much as people will say that we should get behind the manager no matter what, Roy's tactics at times this season have been abysmal, epitomised by the defeat to Blackpool at Anfield. I was at monday night's match against Aston Villa and while it was a good performance it must be noted it was against a Villa side in a worse situation than our own. However, optimism seems to be returning, and with constant links to quality players (particularly Suarez and A.Young of late), this season could be a successful one yet.

I am a 20 year old Liverpool fan. My view is that things are not working in their favour. Also Roy Hodgson is mainly a coach, which is ok for a club like Fulham. But, this is Liverpool. We need a manager who can manage the stars like Torres,Gerrard etc. Also, there is a lack of motivation inside the club. At home matches their recent performances are not so bad because Anfield crowd is always behind them. But their performance on the roads is very bad. Also we need a quality striker who can support Torres. We should go out and fire on all cylinders....with a little bit of luck and a lot of effort, we can surely return to the place where we deserve to be....YNWA....

livepool had been more dominat side in the 80's. they x-factor they use to have during those day is missing in this team. At the movement the chance for breaking into the top four look a little bit grim. mancity, spurs are playing better then liverpool, so breaking into top four would be a hard task after the bad start to the season. well, my guess they might finish 5 or 6 in the table for this season. hard fight to win for the movement, but they do have chance....

This years BPL is one of the most unpredictable leagues ever in the world. So i really don't know whos gonna win this year. But i pray that it would not be Chelsea because they really dont deserve to.Chelsea are clearly inconsistent after two -three games without winning they are really struggling in the league.Today for me maybe the most important day because it arsenal vs manu this really maybe the deciding game in the league. Another team which i like to talk about is spurs! they are performing incredibly well they finished top 4 last year it really shows how hard they had been working.

Hi a98231, I am a Liverpool supporter and I support them since mid 80's. I believe that the forth position for Liverpool at the end of this season is very possible. They were currently at eight position and adrift 10 points from Manchester City who is currently at the forth. With more then half of the league games still needed to be played, the forth position still within the reach for Liverpool. All they need is more concentration during the game and avoid any silly mistake. I do hope the new owner can splash some money to get a new players during this transfer window to strengthen the squad. Or Roy Hudgson keep giving the chances for the youth to show their capability. There is no point of having them in the squad but never get the chances to play. Good Luck to Liverpool. You'll Never Walk Alone.

I think Liverpool will find it hard to break into the top 4 this season. They are too reliant on Torres and Gerrard. Should they be out with an injury, the team will suffer.

U got a point their they rely on their top players more that really increases the burden on their shoulders and make it more difficult for them to play well under so much pressure.

At the beginning of the season I thought they will fight for the champions title in the Premier League, but now I have to say I consider them to finish in the top 6, so they will manage to qualify for Europe.

This year we have to look strategically; I mean we have had a rubbish year let's face it; the factors causing these? 1) Xabi Alonso's departure seasons ago that left a metaphorical abyss in our midfield? 2) Benitez wasting money on useless players like babel when not paying for quality? There are many other reasons. But, this season we have to take into account hodgson's arrival thus leave him to settle in. They will come mid table I believe but slowly will recover in following seasons. We need to replace Gerrard/Carragher and let Kelly play dammit!

I am a loyal and strong supporter of Liverpool. I think this season for Liverpool is a re-building stage or a transition , because of the new club owners and new manager Roy, I think the Liverpool fans will need to be paticant because it takes time for the team to understand the manager and his tatics. I hope that in the Janaruy transfer period, Liverpool buy some quality players so they can have depth in thier squad, They are starting to pick up the pace with winning in the Europa Leauge match last week and now winning 3-0 agianst Aston Villa will help Liverpool.
