Changing the subscription of the mobile phone

I went with my dad today to change the mobile phone number to my name since he closed the bank account on his name, that was linked to the phone number and was adding points to it and prevented us from doing the change.
The first shop assistant refused to provide service as he demanded that apart from the house building paper, we needed a utility bill no older than 30 days or the verbal process of the apartment being completed. I offered a debit card but with no success at this time. We visited a dealer next and she told us the same thing.
We went home and got the latest bill for light that we have and went back to the dealer this time (as they had more phones to choose from). She told us that the bill is 31 days old from the date it was emitted and can't be used but after this she asked about a driver's license - which i don't have, and then after a while she mentioned that a debit card would also work - FINALLY - i wanted to ask her WHY oh WHY haven't she mentioned this before?
Anyway having a debit card, they deducted a small amount that verified and said we DON'T need the house papers anymore

It would have been so much easier if they said or stated this fact somewhere, that a debit / credit card is enough as it would save people a lot of trouble.
They said that they only started accepting debit cards 2 months ago so that's why it's unpopular.
Anyway, to sum this up, i now have a new mobile phone, full of tricks - 2 mb photo camera, 1 giga free card inside, bluetooth, usb connectivity, the works :)
I found a really lovely phone desktop, a reef desktop with fish that move :D I might name some of the fish Dora and Nemo, like in the Disney movie :)
How are things with you, ever face a situation where the clerk / assistant is lacking information in his knowledge and makes you take several roads because of it ?

I’m glad you managed to get your new phone in the end! I hate that kind of red tape, it’s really annoying! We are in the process of enquiring about a business loan at the moment and you would not believe the mixed messages we are receiving from the different financial institutions we’ve approached! I feel like not bothering anymore for a while because all I am getting at the moment is confusion! Your new phone sounds great, love the Dora and Nemo idea!

Hello Paula
Yes i can see how starting the loan for your business can become quite a stressful job when they don't say the same things :)
The phone is pretty great, i found the site i used on it where i can download games for it and then transfer them via my bluetooth adapter so i will deactivate the internet on the mobile phone, which was only free for 1 month to begin with anyway :).

What a load of garbage!! But I'm glad you got a great new phone!
Just yesterday my son needed medicine that the doctor had subscribed. He's 1800 miles away and yesterday he had no money. I had paid with my card at the pharmacy there before but this time they said they don't do that! Nothing either of us said (me on the phone, him at the store) would convince them that they had done it before.
So I had to go online, add him to my profile then he got an invitation and had to create an account and enter my payment information on his profile.
Finally he got his medicine!! What a runaround we got and it took a lot of time and trouble.
I think some places just take delight in making our lives difficult!

Hi Elitess, Glad you are pleased with your new mobile phone and got it all sorted eventually. I haven't had problems like this but this week my boss went to collect a special limited edition of the WOW game which she had pre-ordered in August to be told that she should have placed a deposit to secure, she had offered to pay the full amount in advance in August and the girl never mentioned a deposit just said full payment wasn't necessary so instead of the special edition came away with the version she could have downloaded online anyway instead. Huggles. Ellie:D
