Winning the lottery would be a start! lol. I would have to say unethical or illegal behavior would make me think twice about working for a company.

trvlArrngr, I also have that thought for such a long time! as in, wishing I'd win the lottery so i can quit. easy way out, haha!
you have a strong point on unethical or illegal behavior. I won't stay long, too if things are like that!
thanks and hope all is well!

I am current connected with one company.I have been with them for almost 3 years.Actually, i can do the job even though i am sleeping because it is just a routinary job.honestly,i am very tired and i want to say good bye on my current job.But i can't leave my job due to financial crisis. At the same time,no one will support my mom.I know my brother is there to help her out but that won't be enough.I also think that when i leave the company, i would be a newbie again on the other company and i am not so sure if i will be a regular employee of the next employer. There will be a lot of adjustments.I will just wait for the promotion, just in case i won't be promoted till early next year, maybe i will the company.

Hi rberon,
my response is very long overdue. sorry!
been gone for a long time. :)
I understand where you're coming from. we all have reasons for working, for holding on inspite of our situation or unhappiness in our jobs. Oftentimes, we choose to be practical. Been like that myself!
I've read though, that this should not be the case. If we can find another way, let us go for that because it is hard to work when your heart will not leap for joy. Imagine working there for at least 8 hours everyday! I have that as an experience and it's sad. Kills one's energy and enthusiasm, no?
How is your pending promotion then? HOpe you're promoted by now!
Take care then!

I am working. If one day I am rich and I don't have to worry about the finance. Then I will quit my job and do something I like. Or I have a good opportunity to start my own business, then I will also consider to quit my job. But this can be risky and I have to think it over.

Hi,
I quitted my last job because I was going to
settle down at another country with my husband.
How I wish I can continue to work again...But
at this point of time, the condition don't allow
me to work because I have little boy at home for
me to takecare.
I feel bit regret to go back to my
husband's hometown after we got married. We should continue
stay in Singapore and work there. I do believe the life
there is better although is more stressful, but we both
can work and earn more money for living.

Yes, I am currently a 9 to 5 office worker. I'll quit my 9 to 5 job when I have established a business of my own and have some passive earnings and savings on the side. Quitting my 9 to 5 job and quitting work are 2 different things. To be practical, I need to work to have financial resources to sustain my basic needs. Thus, I will just be shifting my form of work but not quitting work altogether.
