Nigeria formally charges Cheney in bribery

Nigeria has decide to formly charge Cheney (and others) with bribery charges. Including the company Halliburton that Cheney used to run. I am still trying to figure out what they are playing at here. Even if they get a warrant and go through INTERPOL...I don't see the US government handing a former VP over to them. What do you think will happen? I don't know if he is guilty or not. Knowing Cheney is probly is....but that being said I dont think he get extradited. What do you think? Will the US government hand him over? Should they? What political problems will this cause if they do hand him over? What if they don't? http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20101207/wl_nm/us_nigeria_halliburton;_ylt=A0wNdPvU8P5MlnQAu12s0NUE;_ylu=X3oDMTNxN2w1azlkBGFzc2V0A25tLzIwMTAxMjA3L3VzX25pZ2VyaWFfaGFsbGlidXJ0b24EY2NvZGUDbW9zdHBvcHVsYXIEY3BvcwM2BHBvcwMzBHB0A2hvbWVfY29rZQRzZWMDeW5faGVhZGxpbmVfbGlzdARzbGsDbmlnZXJpYWdyYWZ0

who knows but it is a brilliant story. doesn't the us have an extradition treaty with nigeria? they might have to hand him over. and i'd say nigeria, which is not on my list of wonderful countries, is more than welcome to him. in fact i think you run the risk of the us having to pay nigeria to *keep* cheney, after all they'd have to supply his meals and a nice comfy cell. it is like the world's worst kidnapping plot.

I checked. Yep we have one with them. But I wonder if they will have the balls to ask for him. I see Obama talking to the president of Nigeria and talking him out of it. After all Obama did with Spain for Bush.

Who would want him? Let's face it..here in America he is the darth vader of the political world. I don't think the American public would get upset if he did get extradited.

you know, actually having the guts to ask for this in the first place probably has done wonders for nigeria's international image. probably why they did it. i am pretty sure they don't really want cheney or to take on the responsibility of feeding him.

The U.S. Government won't hand him over...not even under this President, although, I believe Holder, et al, would like nothing more... Nigeria is playing politics and I wouldn't play. Nigeria wants money, like we don't give them enough already. Call me less than a diplomat, but I'd tell them to shove their bribery charges...

If all they are after is money than you are exactly the type of diplomat we need. LOL

I wouldn't last long as a diplomat (I wouldn't even get hired). I can't twist/mince words that well.
