Do be careful of the hoaxes on Facebook

There are some really awful people who will go to no ends to hijack or hack peoples computers, and at the moment there are all sorts of hoaxes on Facebook especially that are doing just this.
The latest is the 'This girl killed herself after dad posted this on her wall', if you click on the link then you are taken to a Facebook page which says you have to like it in order to view the father's alleged message. In some cases, the page will use clickjacking techniques to trick you into sharing the page as a status update with your online friends, but the end result is the same - you'll be directed to a webpage which asks you to complete a survey.
And that's what makes money for the scammers who create these pages.
This 'Girl killed herself' virus hoax is all over the net, and because it is loose on Facebook it has the ability to go world wide in a few short moments.
I recently got a virus from opening such a link so do be very careful.

Luckily I steer clear of Facebook: but this illustrates just how low 'people', I use the word guardedly, will stoop to scam money.
Talking of scam (companies in this case) how is Sean? The week before last I switched nights to days to help out as someone went sick. As I could not get there straight away they only paid me from arrival time, so by helping them out I actually lost two hours pay. I know it's not a fortune, but it says a lot about how they regard us! I should be moving shortly before Christmas.

Well we are having a ray of hope at the moment!!
He got three shifts at an other site so got a little money last month.
And they have got him a permanent position at another site (and for an increased hourly rate of £6.20!)It is a construction site and he had to sit a 'Health & Safety' exam first - he did that yesterday and passed so is hoping that his shifts will start today!!!

Good news then. Pleased to hear it. I should be moving 21/12, which means I will get 25/26 December off. My existing employer has finally decided to renew my first aid (they let mine lapse), so I have had to put off my notice as they will charge me if I do not attend. My new employer has said that they will refund me some if not all the training cost if I do lose out. So I was right to take the course.
It also means that a guy who tried to seriously stitch me up will have to work Christmas in my place. That gives me a sense of revenge!
