Hi,
It is Christmas Time and there are so many great discussions around - they have even started the New Year Resolutions stuff too
.
Amidst all of these discussions... I really Miss myLot ADMIN - the one who is responsible for all this and its management.
I think occasionally s/he should take a break from the regular chore of activities and start a discussion.
I know, I know... if that happened all the responses would go his/her post and s/he would have a hell of a time resolving them... but just for fun's sake... why not occasionally take a break and chill out here?
What Do You Think?
btw - I tried reading the TOC and found there are no explicit instructions for member of MyLot Management that prevent them from starting/replying to discussions.
Your Opinions....
Cheers,
theSids.

You can, of course, read (and respond to) the discussions started by GoAskAlice and Crash:
http://www.mylot.com/GoAskAlice
http://www.mylot.com/Crash
Is it possible that there are so many people who start discussions these days without reading the Guidelines that their hands are completely full with deleting all the useless and pointless crap so that they go home completely exhausted?
There is nothing to tell us, by the way, that there may be members of the MyLot staff who have accounts here in their own, private capacity.

As a matter of fact, there's a fairly constant number of discussions posted per day (around 600). That is enough to keep someone quite busy! Suppose each discussion gets an average of 10+ responses, that is perhaps something like 7000 posts in all of which some will get deleted (I haven't yet calculated that figure but my guess is somewhere between 5% and 10%).
MyLot Admin (GoAskAlice) tend to keep the behind-the-scenes workings of MyLot quite close to their chest but we do know that there are not more than about 20 people employed in total - quite a small number when you consider all the things that have to go on to run such a lively forum efficiently.

Sorry I missed responding to this one and that too from a senior MyLotter I admire.
Yes, I knew they had one at least for sure - the AskAlice. I knew that one existed as I had a response on one of my earlier discussions from that account.
Thanks for the "Crash" - never knew it existed.
I understand that the management of all these posts (in millions per day) is quite a tough and daunting task and they would not take / care to create a discussion after being exhausted. It has been 11 months of my association with this website and was just wondering if they took a break or off kind of thing and posted/shared something from their point of view... maybe a funny incident at work or anything...
Apologies again I should not have kept your response waiting.
Have a Great Time
Regards,
theSids.

Hi Sarah,
Yes, Alice was the one. I had a response from that account on one of my discussions and that is all I know about this. On this discussion, I got a couple of links for them and I could see the Alice account... Wonder if they have time for some celebration discussion...

hello Sids...and first of all ...all my best wishes to you for this festive season...
though it is not our festival...but don't know why it feels like a very good celebration time to me also...especially becoz i get vacation and i go out for holidays somewhere...anyway..coming to your discussion...
Sharon writes discussion occasionally....and as u said everyone posts there....but i have posted once ...it was about the problem u have at mylot..i wrote about my problem about not able to upload banners..and i didn't get satisfactory answer...so i am not at all excited (maybe the admin feel bad if they read this) about their discussion to be started...i rarely care about the post a person holds or in real life also...even if the person maybe rich or powerful...but until and unless the person has feelings or has time for you...i don't feel like interacting with such people...it makes no sense if u write and anyone doesn't react...so for me..i am not waiting at all for any discussion from her or him (if there is any male also)
i instead feel happy to respond to some good friends here

Hi Eshaan,
I am game for any festivities on this planet and I enjoy participating or celebrating in almost all the ones I know.
I can understand your point. Actually it happens because these Admin people are sop very close to technology that they assume many of us also know about the technology. So they give suggestions or advice assuming certain things - that is why they have a customer support to keep things easy for all.
Just for fun's sake, I feel the admin too should post a discussion at least on festive times/occasions so that the MyLotters can feel close to the Team who does so much of hard work at the backend of the system.
Cheers,
theSids.

Hi Sids, hmm...I've seen the Mylot Admin in one of the posts before and he's known as Alice. I've seen some of his discussions but they are all regarding questions that Mylotters have or the questions that Mylotters would like to ask. Through my experience, he's a friendly person but I guess, he's too busy moderating so he has no time to participate here. It would be good to see him around

Yea, that's why being a mod and an admin is not that easy
. Really some big responsibilities on hand

Hi JudgeIronFist,
Yes, I had the privilege and honor of an interaction with Admin (Alice) on one of my discussions. Then I saw her post a comment on anothers' discussion a couple of days back. That made me search for some TOC or Rules if they prohibit the Team from having their own discussions and when I did not find any... I thought to ask for opinions.
Yes, s/he is busy and I can imagine the scenario - over 2 million users is really a big big task.

Hi dear,
I found something not digesting this one.
But from others responses, I got some idea of what you are talking about.
Thank-s
