Are the replies for the same discussion for more than once calculated?

I have found that if I reply the same discussion for more than once or if I reply the discussion that I start by myself, the number in the () in my profile won't increase. Are these replies calculated into the payment? I am sure that I haven't written anything meaningless such as only " I agree with you" or "thank you for your reply".

Yeh you should still earn the same amounts as a normal post as long as you make it a long answer and not short little ones as you know you will not get paid for.I think they should pay you for short ones but about 1 eigth of a cent as then people would not try and do it as much they would try and write longer answers which is more helpful for the site as they will get more web views. It would also help people write more explained and detailed answers as i hate it on here when some members only post half of a story or question and you have too guess the other half.

As long as your posts are within the guidelines and 3-4 sentences long you will get paid, don't worry. The number beside your username doesn't increase, but that would not stop you from earning for your contribution.
