Beware of HDD software that Appear on Your PC

I was attacked by a Trojan virus yesterday after doing a survey. Macafee remove the virus but afterwards another virus come out and this HDD software appear on my screen saying that I have to defragment to solve the problem. I click it thinking that it is a real software to protect my pc but I made it worse. The hard disk is in critical error, more error occurs. I restart my pc but nothing happened. I waited for my husband and he said that the HDD thing is a malware. So he install antimalware and the problem was solved but after restarting another virus occur. He said that the virus is changing its name. So he download spybot and it clear all the virus. Thanks to him, my laptop is okay. So beware of this HDD software.

Thanks for the information. I think there are many virus softwares spreading these days. Sometimes, they use emails to send you a link to the virus. So, you have to be very careful because most of the time they use inactive emails and that such emails are email address by someone you know. I do not really trust those that appears in the screen. One must be very careful

yeah, I do not open them. I am wondering why they know those person that we know. Those who make viruses are wasting their genius.

Thanks for the information angelic, I use Spybot but it is not enough. I use Symantec Norton Anti Virus.
So I am very well protected as I have the server endpoint version, so no virus can get past it as it updates daily on my PC.
But great advice to many members who confuse such HDD programs.

thanks. I think there are many victims of it, because when we search HDD virus there are many articles written on how to remove it. So I wish to extend awareness.
