Modern age is designated as the era of mental worries and anxieties. How do you manage to get rid of these unwanted outcomes of life? Do you practice yoga or meditation to alleviate these hazards of modern life?

I have tried yoga and meditation, and they have certainly helped me in the past. They still do. They do help me relax and such. For me, writing also helps me. It is another way for me to relax and just get all those tensions and worries out. Whether it's meditation, yoga, or writing, either methods help me relax.

Yes, I practice both yoga and meditation and I enjoy it very much. I also like to write, take walks, and go hiking to help with stress and anxiety.

hi doctordidi I am a diabetic and am elderly 84 so stress is a bad thing for blood sugar control. so I practice this trick taught to me from a diabetes nurse educator. picture yourself with a tough plastic bubble all around you and its stress proof so stress just bounces off of it and you are calm and relaxed and have much less trouble keeping your blood sugar down where it should be.

I have tried meditation, but I find it very difficult because I can't get my mind to be quiet. I find it so annoying that I stop meditating. I know the point is to get to the point where you quiet your mind, but I guess I don't have that much focus. When I am stressed, I usually try to sing with my karaoke machine. I also might go to a movie, so I can forget reality for a little while. I like yoga, but it doesn't seem to help me relax.

Despite the fact that I am constantly stressed as I am sure that all adults in the world are today, I do have my little things that I do for myself that help me to reduce the stress that I face in my life. The main thing that I do is that I love to scrapbook. It is something that is very relaxing to me. In addition to this, when I am feeling extremely stressed, I do like to take bubble baths with a good book and it will make me feel a lot better as well.

Worries and anxieties are part of life, regardless of modern or in the past. All of which are created on our own when there's actually nothing to worry about. What's meant to be will be, so there's no use in fretting over it. So long we do our part, do our best in everything, there won't be worries. PLanning is something most of us don't do, because we like to take things step by step in life. As such, when there's some disruptions, our routine mess up, and anxiety kicks in.

As a therapist and Zen practioner, I have practiced meditation, and encouraged my clients to practice meditation on a daily basis. Zazen (or Zen meditation) whilst it can help to reduce negative stress in daily life, its primary function is about spritual enlightenment and transcendence. It is more to do with the transformation base energy into spiritual energy than a fix for the worries and anxieties that life in modern society produces. As a result of the meditation, the practitioner gradually becomes detached from his/her anxieties as he/she recognizes the illusion of a time-based mental attitude. There is only now, the past and the future is where anxiey lies. The past and the future are non-existent - an illusion, therefore the production of stress and anxiety must also be an illusion... That is the practice, but the mind (ego) will resist any effort that is going to ultimately prove the illusion. It is this resistance, the we work with in meditation. _Derek

I do Yoga, but the most effective thing for me is Tapping. If you don't know what this is go to tapping.com on the Internet and watch the video. For me this is such a powerful tool, it has helped me through day by day stress as well as those stresses that can overpower you.

I am on an anti-depressent to help me cope with today's world. I also have done therapy, done alot of writing in journels, talked to friends and I still am a mess! At least I think I am! Probaly more then I am but there is always work to be on yourself! No one told me life would be like it is and I think that has to do with my coping with life that way I do!

I am not sure they can be totally "alleviated." For instance I am still caring for my son who was injured in an automobile accident. I do "meditate" on scriptures and pray to help get myself through many days. I also run and I sing. Those are all ways that I make it through, but the "hazard" does not go away.

No meditation, but I do believe in a Higher Power that I can go and talk to, get stuff off my chest. I do it in private, but occasionally, I go to a person to ask for prayer help. I strongly believe in learning how to be self-aware - it's very important in figuring out what YOU yourself is doing to cause part of the stress. (not saying that you're the cause, but it definitely has helped me a lot in my personal experience.) I do know this isn't the healthiest way, but I do admit that sometimes I just take a nap if the pressure gets too rough.

It is all in your mindset. I have no meditation routine or yoga routine. I wake up each morning and say to myself that no matter what happens I am going to have a wonderful and nobody or nothing will stress me out. It happens to work for me. I try not to let things get to me. My husband doesn't think I don't worry over our money issues, but I do. I just don't let it boggle me down. What would be the point of sitting here crying because we can't afford to pay our bills. Is me crying going to bring me the money to pay them? NO, so why waste my time crying and stressing over something I have no control over. I might as well be happy while being poor. I'm going to be broke no matter happy or sad. I'd rather be happy. At least that way I'm not emotional drained.

Mental worries, tension and anxieties are the outcome of one's attitude and life style. If you are internally calm, undisturbed and patient,no external event will affect you. Positive mental attitude coupled with self-confidence and devotion to Almighty God keep you free from all kinds of worries and tensions. Realization of one's spiritual identity and feeling of universal oneness drives away personal ego and narrowness of mind and empowers one to move with the flow of life, like a natural stream ,in the midst of all push and pull of life. Thanks.

Well, I hate to tell you this, I am recently facing numerous worries and anxieties with my life right now. Not only from work, from my love life, and other factors. I just have too much headache with money, especially finance problem. I wish that I can do everything all over again. I just hate to admit it I was a fool.

I used to love to work under stress but as time passes by I tend to get bored with it. What I normally do is do a workout and have a nice time with my love ones. These are great ways to solve the problem. Also try to talk out and the problem with them. You will feel much better this way.
