In the tradition of old churches when christianity founded, woman are no part (silence) in the church, they are not allowed to speak in the church, if they have something to say, they will tell first to thier husband. Also they are seperated place inside the church. How about now? What are the changes? Woman are allow now to speak, to share, to become pastor, and the latest is allow to become priest. In your views based on the two period of time which is the better the woman will be silenced inside the church or allow to speak and other in the church - WHY? Share to us your views.... see you around

Hello Visavis, The only news that i have search in the Internet is that women priest now exist in United States. I understand that you believe in the bible and there's no question or debate on it either if we ever discuss it here. But In my Personal Opinion, Times has changed because of Technology, way of thinking and freedom of speech. the Bible, even the Quran was made during the times where women nor their femininity were even recognized. For now, I only allow a few verses in the Bible to make it my every day, the rest are Obsolete..the abuse of men in the past cause the women to rise, nothing can stop it now. and I like it.

I feel that to-day's practice of allowing women to speak and to share is rational and acceptable in many ways.Silencing women in the church limits their freedom and equality in religious life.God should be equally accessible to all irrespective of gender, class, race, color and other man made differences. The grace of God is available to all. I always support equality and freedom in the matter of seeking religious and spiritual path.

The admonition for women to be quiet in the general assembly of the saints has not been removed from the bible. Therefore, it is still in effect. I don't know why God had that rule put in the bible, but since H e did, it must be the best way. There are other times when a woman can ask questions and even to answer others questions, such as a Sunday School class. If a woman's husband is not a Christian or is not knowledgeable about the bible, she can ask one of the elders or the preacher. It is my opinion that God knew that if women were allowed to speak their minds at any time and to fill all the offices of the church, The men would let them take over. I have seen this happen in some congregations that were not trying to abide strictly by the guidelines of the bible.

I think that the changes are just proof that the church knows that they were doing something wrong and now they are trying to change it. I have a problem with the theory that women are the downfall of mankind. First off ADAM had a brain, that means that he was able to make his own choices, EVE didn't threaten him and say that he had to do anything. As for her tempting ADAM, I think that this is a sad excuse for the fact that a man is led by his "member" and doesn't have the self restraint to think his actions through. I think that personally if God is all seeing, and he created us in his image, there should be no reason that we can't talk to him ourselves without a priest to interpret our issues to him. Now I personally believe in a higher being and I am not really sure what to classify myself as, I hold strong beliefs in Paganism ( NOT DEVIL WORSHIP!!!!!!!) as well as Christianity in the sense that I believe in "God". However I don't think that God is a person, I think that God is a name given to an entity that is greater than all of us. I also believe in Demi gods (gods meant to help God in times of need) so for me the church is a waste of time. I don't need to be in a man made building to feel close to God, all I have to do is go outside into the beautiful world that "he" created, to be close to him and I don't need to talk through someone else to get my point across. I think that women are an important part of life, without us, there is no life, without man, there is no life, we are EQUAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh. I agree with you. We should be all equal. I am also tired of following Christian rules specifically for women. It would seems that women are always inferior to men, but I guess because of the teachings in the Christian doctrine. I believe that all of us are equal.

I see this thing about forbidding women to speak in church, etc, a misunderstanding of the Scriptures. That occurs when a text or two is isolated from the rest and sometimes the wording ignore. For example, look at the ones in the NT that seem to forbid female participation. Does not the context say "I Paul"? Yet, even under the dispensation of the Law the Jews had a female judge--Deborah. NT-Priscilla taught. And yes, the NT states the bishop / deacon is to be "the husband of ...," but the principle of Gal. 3:28, "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus," brings in the balance.

Unfortunately yes, things have changed. I say unfortunately because - I believe that the Word of God should be upheld; not changed simply because of social evolution. I have nothing against women...my mother's a woman! However, the word of God says that they are not permitted to speak, now what that means is - they are not permitted to 'lead' men, disciple men, proclaim the Word from the pulpit...that is the proper interpretation. Now, we can argue semantically about women's abilities and so forth...in fact, I've heard some women preach and they could preach me under the table!! That's the not the point - the Word is the Word - if God allowed women to preach, then I would allow it in my church, but since He doesn't - I don't. It's that simple. We blow things out of proportion via Women's rights, male domination, etc...that's hogwash. I know there are small - minded men out there who think women or good for nothing but the kitchen and the bedroom, however, the bible doesn't share those views. Women are very powerful in the bible and it's proven throughout biblical history; but of all the women mentioned in the bible that did great things for God, NONE OF THEM WERE PASTORS OR MINISTERS TO MEN. Just wanna keep things in perspective.

visavis this is almost 2011 not 1911 so yes we women are at last equal and have the right to speak in church a nd to hold offfices too and even become a pastor. this no longer macho mans world where we are treated like trained monkeys but like human beings who just happen to be female. so all of the macho men will just have to bear with it as we have a last got some religious rights too.Yes this is much better and also much fairer too.why must you ask why? because we are not second class ciizens any longer, we are woman, hear us roar ase we willno longer' be held down.[e]

Read the story catherine booth. Without her involvement and very God-led mission work, including preaching, the salvation army would't be around. Read also: Gal 3:28 .. That in God's eyes men need to get over race, creed, colour and yes even se xs when it comes to building the church. Roamns 16:3-4 Paul welcomes these 2 strong women in leading the church. (leading included preaching) www.crivoice.org/cbooth.html has an interesting and well researched page, not only on catherine booth but also women from the new testament, and other women who had lead not only by example but also their voice, preaching.
