For me, I prefer dogs. Maybe it is just me. I do have a pet dog in the past and yes I feel dogs are great fun to have. However, taking care of one is tough! I know I cant make the decision for you but it is truly up to you. Do you like dogs? if yes, you could give a try at it. No harm done anyway. However, i think that dog are harder to take care. Just my 2 cents

That's right taking care of a pet dog is too tough..its a bit annoying to when they starts barking at the middle of the night when you are asleep..

hello steph, In my opinion, you must follow what you think is right for you, your choice. If you feel like you want to try a dog this time, then go for it. But if you feel you prefer cat to place your lost cat, then it's up to you. Or,you can have both...that would be more fun, just give it a try Welcome to mylot and happy mylotting always

Cats and dogs are both loving and amazing pets. If you are in a situation where you have to choose between a cat and a dog then I advise you to get a dog since cats are very moody whereas dogs are more mentally stable. Have a good day!!!

its simple..u just ask your self what kinds of pets is very likes or interested... the pets u choose must made u fill happy and peaceful because the one of thing u can realise your tension is your pets...

Cats are great companions, they sleep with you without taking up thew whole bed. Dogs are also great comapions, but you can look at a dog as more high maintenace, you have to take them outside, if you live in an apartment then you dont want a big dog unless you are the type that likes to go out all the time to exercise (ie Running)

I am more pleased with the cats, because the cute and spoiled. I have two cats, both fat, funny and spoiled.

It also depends a little on your surroundings.. if you have enough space and time to spend for a dog then take one. A kitten is easyer to stay alone for a while but are also very good friends. Y have 2 german sheppards and 7 cats now. Cats just adopt me jejejej... but they are very caring.. If you dont feel good its the cats who will stay with you in bed and make sure that you come up again spending ypu their love.

to get another pet is only depends upon ur interest only. Get which pet do u like more. But for a change u can buy a dog.

both cats n dogs are a good pet. i personally feel that dogs are sometimes more interesting. they are more understanding and playfull. specially the small breads like pug, lhasa apso are very playfull. taking dogs for walks and playing with them is a stress buster. so i would advise you to go for a dog.

Hmmm...I wanted to start a discussion like this today but I found yours so it's too late now. I prefer dog if you got the time and the energy to spend with your dog. The walkings with your dog improve your mood. You can also play with your dog , giving him a leash to bite so he tries to pull it from you , making your muscles work. you can also play catch with him or test his sense of smell (hide some meat and he will find it with smelling , that's fun how he search). You can also hug the dog and cuddle with him if he is clean. Dogs are smart and understand how you feel. Now , about cats , I see most of them are just fine even if not inside a house , they can handle on their own. You can play with a cat some speed games like letting him catch a piece of meat on a string making him jump to catch it. I think its alittle abusing though. Cats only need a sand box so you don't need to take them for a walk , they are more clean so the chance to have ticks is low . They like cuddling and caress. You can always feed the cats outside so they will hang around your house more often. They hunt mice so it's good .
