Why do I not have motivation to do my homework?

I am currently a college student and am having a difficult time doing my homework. I love to learn but I just don't enjoy my assignments. Why do I no like doing my homework? Or at least have the motivation to complete an assignment? Any thoughts would be helpful. I know my future depends on my education but an assignment is just an assignment. There is no real goal other than getting a high grade on it. Why not make assignment that actually benefit humanity? I feel like I am waisting a good portion of my day typing a paper that will never be published or take a quiz that will only test my knowledge of the subject.

Some students are just not homework happy people. some students feel they have fulfilled their educational day at school. They want it to end their. they don't feel the need to have to bring school home with them. If you are needing motivation to do needed homework, just think of the grade you will get.

Thanks, yeah that's a good idea. I am currently on a scholarship so I also want to keep that.

I have two responses for you. On the terms of motivation, that avenue is entirely up to you. You have to find a reason within yourself to continue whatever you are doing (not just studying). There are people who do their jobs effectively because they find inspiration every day or in small things. You just have to get some time to reflect. It does not have be big or grand but it has to be engaging. I guess the reason that you might not enjoy doing your assignment is that you think that the assignment is boring or not directed to your strength. Find some ways to relate the assignment to you and you might complete it. For your second argument, I agree that most students think that taking a quiz or having academics is a waste of time and money. Your argument is that these things are only short-term and will only be a small part in terms of having success. In my opinion, these short-term activities are just small steps for improvement and learning. I learned some vital things that I picked up from my professor's comments and corrections. Sure, these things might never see the light of academics but I can say that I improved because of them. Besides, every inch of information and knowledge is always for keeps. You will never know when you might need it.
