Never! I would never let Chelsea escape this kind of performance on grounds of Lampard's absence. Just watch closely and you will see how easy it is to score Peter Cech! I don't know what is happening for sure, but I am a bit confident they will bounce back because they are not so far away, all they need is a win and they tie United!!

I think Chelsea is just disoriented. I still think they are in for the contention for the League cup though. The injury of Terry and Lampard including Esienne did some damage-I hope they will get to the winning ways again.

I think it is the double blow of Lampard being out and Drogba not being fully fit that has really affected them. This shows that their bench strength is not as good as some people had made out at the start of the season. Last season they had Ballack and Deco to fallback on if Lampard was injured. This season they do not have cover for him. Also, though Anelka scores regularly he is a small club bully and does not really change the course of bigger matches and for that Drogba is required!! Cheers! Ram

It shows us that money is not everything in football. How much money has Abramovich spent to build Chelsea? Until now, they fail to win the CL. I think he should invest in the youth development, not only by buying an expensive player in the market.

Their defence is not as strong as it used to be. But, having watched the game between Spurs and Chelsea, I think they are improving now as compared to a few games ago whereby they were really poor. The only thing missing from the team is the element of luck. They should be back in winning ways soon.

I think that they will recover soon, and after all a 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane is not a bad result at all. We have seen in the Champions League how strong Tottenham is at home, so I think a draw there is a very good result.

Hi there, Actually, i also want to bring forward this topic. I also confuse that whats wrong with Chelsea recently. At biginning, Chelsea is very strong and also have a good performance. But recently, Chelsea lose several games and now only rank four. And if Chelsea can not recover back in the near future, he would lose chance of chasing Champion. I am sad with this result. Now turn to reasons analysis. 1. Some valuable players transfer out, but only transfer in Lamilesi, who is valuable for the team. Another player injured. 2. Lampard injuried and Dedroba do not recover his strenghth utterly. 3. It seems some thing happened between administrative tema and Coach team.

i think the problem with Chelsea has always been their poor bench strength. They go for big name signings and hardly have quality players from their youth system. They don't have proper back up for Lampard and Terry who are now above 30. also, Ancelotti seems to have lost focus after sacking of his assistant

I couldn't agree more with you...It is both the players and the internal affairs that really affected Chelsea...The sacking of Ancelotti's assistant really affects the manager as both of them are good friends...Nevertheless, I couldn't agree with the say that the absence of lampard affects the whole club...He's a key player but as for me, there are many Chelsea players that are as important as him, yet cannot give an impact to the team as a whole...It is important that the whole team get back up and running, or they will lose their last season hard-fought championship...

I believe that sometimes Chealsea becomes complacent when playing with teams that have similar or lower reputation. Also Frank Lampard presence or absence doesn't have to be the reason why the team wins or not. Although he is a key player, Ancelotti must have some decent backup plan in case he gets injured or suspended. Don't forget that the other team also plays, so they may have a sturdy defense, one that Chealsea or other team would find difficult to break down.
