You would think so by listening to the new infomerical from homeland security. Walmart and HLS have teamed up to do it's "see something, say something" campaign. They will have these announcements played in walmart stores.
Did I miss something. Have the terrorist threatened to blow up Walmart? Has anyone tried? I wonder how much the BS is costing us tax payers. So if I see something I need to contact a Walmart manager...um..isn't that common sense?
Here is teh link...click on the video if you want to see the "infomerical". As if I needed another reason NOT to shop at Walmart. LOL.
What do you think?

I have mixed reactions to this new partnership... In Israel, they take a proactive approach and everyone is taught to watch and report. On one hand, I think that's the kind of approach we need to be implementing in the U.S., but on the other hand, is this Walmart/HS infomercial the way to go? I don't think so. And if I were designing, developing a campaign, I don't think I'd use Napolitano as the spokesperson. But the American public, whether we like it or not, is going to have to become more and more aware. Terrorism isn't going away...

All of us know we need to watch out and call the cops if we suspect something. It happens all the time. We don't need walmart and Napolitano to tell us that.

I agree. Heck if they wanted to save money they could just have the news people talk about it. Then we wuold know about it and it would not cost us tax payers a dime. And then they could use the saved money on our debt.

I hear you. I think "reminders" don't hurt, but I don't really need a Napolitano in my face reminder. And then when I think about the cost of the reminders...we could better use our money... So I'll forego the reminder, if they promise to use the money saved on our debt.

You know, I usually defend Wal-Mart against those who claim it is an evil corporation that treats its employees ill. Every time I have been there, I see happy, helpful employees. I like good bargains, too. But this Homeland Security hook-up is not going to fly with me. It's a little bit big-brotherish, it's a little secret police, it's a suggestion that we become an informant society.
People actually do call the police if they see something suspicious, even if it's not in Walmart. They found that 12 year old girl who was missing after her mother's murder because a shopper spotted her in a store with the mother's fugitive boyfriend and told a store employee to call the police. But other than spotting missing children or shoplifting, what sort of crimes do we think shoppers will see in Walmart? I doubt I could spot the terrorist, even if he's buying the cell phone he needs to detonate explosives right in front of me. Seems to me that store clerks would be the ones who would be in a better position to note the customer who is asking for 10 large bags of fertilizer, nails, a pre-paid cell phone and those rolls of electrical wire....
Maybe Janet Napolitano can team up with Andy Griffith on the next gov't infomercial and tell us how to rat out possible medicare fraud being committed by doctors who are plotting to blow up Walmart.

Maybe this could work out....there are tons of illegals that shop at my local walmart. Heck there are time I go in there and NOT hear english hardly at all. THey are committing a crime...so should I turn them in to the walmart manager so he or she can call ICE to come get them. After all..if I see it I should tell right? They ARE breaking the law.LOL

I personally don't like walmart because just about everything there is imported. Which means you are supporting ANOTHER countries economy by shopping there and not THIS one.
I try to buy American when ever I can. Ever see the movie made about Walmart? Called the high cost of low prices. It is on Netflix instand play if you want to watch it. Walmart HAS NOT been good for the american economy. But it has been GREAT for China's.

I really don't need another reason not to shop at Walmart! Their commercials where they try to make themselves out to be the greatest place on earth to work were bad enough, now this silly sh1t. Sure, there4 are some good buys there but you literally can't find a single thing made in the USA there.
