I just came from a luncheon where the speaker was from a hospice care organization. It was an interesting and informative session. But I found myself wondering if I could ever work in such a position, ministering to those at the end of life every day.
Could you?

I have often wondered that myself.
Around Christmas time, there is always something on tv about the IWK...our local children's hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
I think I would love to work there helping kids with different things everyday....but on the other hand....a lot of these kids are terminal and I know this would have a big impact on me.
People who work at these types of jobs learn to give the best they can, and to adjust to these situations....but, God, it must be hard.
We do NOT give enough credit to these individuals who do these sort of jobs.
Merry Christmas.

The gift they give is a tremendous blessing. For most of them I expect there are blessings received as well.
Merry Christmas to you too!

ha! ha! ha!
We should work for something we are interested in, then only we can enjoy our work.
For a jobless person, you should work for whatever is offered.
Sometimes, you will find the interest only after you have started to work on it.
Don't decide too early. Try first.

you misunderstood me, aeiou78. I am near retirement age and have had the same job for over 30 years. I was just marveling at how hard it must be to deal every day with those who are dying.
