There were a big fire broke out in my city once a while and of course people woill called the fire department and the fireman came.It looks like it is a truely dangerous job and the fire figther should always deserve a salute from us.They really experinece life threatening moment and their job is a hard work. In today's society, the fire fighter not just deal with fire alone. They have to do inspection for those building that may not meet the fire secuity standard. They have to give proper education to the general public to teach them about fire safety knowledge.I have personally met two to three a long time ago. It was a real fire broken out in my next door's neighbour and the firemen came and put down the fire. In my city , a fire fighter is nit a well pay job and will always risk their life when there is a real fire broke out. Some of them had lost their life while they were on duty. I think they didi a really good job and we should thank them all the times.

I haven't ever suffered a fire and had to call the fire department I am glad to say. My sister's mother-in-law lit a candle and then fell asleep. Her curtains went up in flames and her apartment and its contents had smoke damage. Luckily a neighbor of hers managed to stop the fire spreading. She had to leave the apartment and that she lived in and she stayed at a hotel for several weeks. Then she found a flat to live in for a short time but she wasn't happy there. She recently moved into a sea front apartment and it is very grand looking. I have seen fire engines with school children when the fire fighters visited. I believe fire fighters are very brave people that care a lot about saving people caught in a fire or blaze. They risk their lives saving people and it isn't a well paid profession. It is very sad when one of them loses their life whilst on duty. Your poor neighbor suffered a fire so that was awful. The fire fighters deserve much thanks.

You are right. The fire fighter always risked their life. I watched two fire frighters who had tried to save someone on a building in the local news last year.Something went wrong with their breathing equippment and the two fire fighters still wanted to share thier breathing mask to those who was in dangerous situation. The story was so sad that the two fire fighter end up lost their life just because of they were running out of oxgen from their equippment. They were honored by the local government and many people in this city went to their funneral even they didn't know the fire fighters personally. These two men was in 29 and another 42.Their performance had really encourage many fire fighters to be more brave and willing to do their job more professionally.I think they really taught everyone a lesson with their life namely "don't be selfish and do your best to help others in your job"Well, I hope you would never experience any fire in the future because I have experienced once to help to save others. I end up breathe in too much smoke from the fire and had to stay in the hospital for six hours before I can discharged by them to go home. At least, I did help to save the senior citizen who cause the fire by careless mistake.Well, It was history but a lesson of life anyway.Have a good day.

Yes, we should thank them. I lived in Detroit some time ago and we had two fires in my building. The last time we had a fire, I moved. That last fire, someone was killed and whoever shot him tried to cover up the crime by setting the place on fire. As I carried this one woman down the steps, I bumped into firemen as they ran into the building.

Though I have been lucky enough in my life that I've never had to encounter a firefighter in a situation where they are fighting a fire, I have the utmost respect for them and for their chosen professions. Every day the firefighter put their lives in danger for the safety of the citizens. There are far too many cases where firefighters are killed in fighting fires and I really don't think that the get the kind of respect that they deserve for the most part.
