Ok, so I put an ad on Craigslist seeking a replacement assistant for my flaky one. I have to ads. One specifically asks for a quick typist. So people call for for that one and ask, "Do I have to type?" Duh! Why would I specifically request it in an ad and not require people to do it. Maybe the reason some people don't have jobs is that they are too stupid to have them. What do you think?

That could be a reason for some but I think many are out of work because the trade they are trained to do is now being either phrased out completely or is being done by computers. Or the company ate up another and there were duplicate positions. Or the experience dance. You need to have experience and yet you can't gewt any unless you get a job.

Maybe they are trying to figure out why they would have to type to do the job your asking. It is pretty silly that if it is a requirement, that they would even ask.

I wonder, in this age of computers, people apply for office-oriented jobs and expect not to handle computers, or "type" I think common sense dictates that the nature of these jobs always involve the use of computers. Well, I do believe you're not using typewriters still, right? So I don't see the point of that person still asking if he had to type. I just don't get that.
