Frequently used words , pretty annoying !

It was interesting to listen to a discussion on the radio that these three words "whatever" , "like" , and "actually" are among the most frequently used words these days. The remark was that these words get pretty annoying to some people at times. Do you feel so too ? Any other words frequently used ?

Those are "comfort" words..lol..people tend to lean towards those type of words when giving speeches or presentations. Another one is " and..mmmmm" That is pretty common. I took a speech class that alerted us to our own habits so that we could learn to control them when we give speeches..lol..I was shifty.

I have aheard many say using the word 'honestly' when answering indicates dishonesty. I disagree and think it is merely a stall to help one think of what they want to say next.
I think using 'Actually' is a stall/pause. Adding 'whatever' to the end of something is a quick way to end. I agree 'like' is annoying when misused. I usually do not mind these but if excessive they can be annoying.

Hi Stary. People have affinity for certain words ! Kind of habitual some times. Yeah, you are right. When it becomes excessive, that becomes very annoying.

WO,it is intresting,I haven't hear this,and I don't often use these three words,and think why we all use the word "like",may be when we say "I like you."

"I like you" would be nice to hear, right ? Well , but the word "like" has another meaning, and people tend to use it whether something is really "like" or not. Very interesting !

Wow now that I'm thinking about, this is pretty true. I don't think they're too annoying since I don't really notice it. I guess other words a lot are pretty much all the swear words. People use them a lot just because they are curse words.

Yes, indeed, curse words would be pretty annoying. I suppose people say those words when they get so frustrated.
