Today while my 6 year old was at school I took my 3 year old son with me shopping. We stopped at the mall and since I only had to go to two stores which were right next to each other I didnt bother to take the stroller because I knew he wouldnt want to sit in it anyway.
We were in Burlington Coat factory and I had to go to the bathroom. The past two days hes been carrying around this mobile home toy that says campervan on the side of it. He was obsessed with it. While I was getting ready to sit on the toilet he started pushing his campervan across the bathroom floor. I told him that was gross and not to do that because campervan was getting dirty. So as I was sitting down to go to the bathroom he throws the toy in the TOILET!
When I was done urinating I looked to see what I could use to get the toy out without touching the water or toilet with my hand. There was nothing but toilet paper or flushable toilet seat covers. I thought maybe they would hold up better then the toilet paper so I folded it over in my hand and tried to grab the campervan out. It disintegrated just as fast as toilet paper lol. I was so disgusted and grossed out. I threw it in the sanitary napkin holder and used my other hand to open the stall door and wash my hands. Thinking about it now still makes me want to vomit.
Later he asked me where campervan was. I told him that he threw it in the toilet. He pointed his finger at me and said you went pee pee on camper van that is naughty. I said to him that I had to go the bathroom and he threw it in there so it was his fault that I had to throw campervan away. He told me he was mad at me. I told him I was mad at him to. Then we both chuckled because hes so stinking cute I cant stay mad at him.
Later on I asked him why he threw campervan in the toilet. He told me he didnt want it anymore. I told him next time he decides he doesnt want a toy not to throw it in the toilet because then we have to throw it in the garbage. I told him that if he doesnt want a toy we can find another little boy who would like it and give it to him instead. He didnt respond so I'm not sure what he was thinking about that.

My ex is a plumber. I'm sure reaching into a toilet wouldnt phase him at all but oh my gosh its so disgusting. In my own toilet its one thing but in someone elses toilet its one of the worst things ever. My ex was working one time and a sewer pipe broke and exploded all over him. I would have quit that day for sure lol.

It is kind of funny that your son decided to throw the toy into the toilet, but I also think that you did the right thing by telling him that the next time there is a toy that he doesn't want that he should let you know because there are plenty of people in the world that don't have anything at all and would be very happy to have the most simple of toys to play with. I've been telling my son lately that I will give all of his toys to a little boy that has lost everything that he had (including his brother and sister) in a fire.

My daughter was always wonderful about giving her toys away. She would not like it but then I would say to her that there are kids who dont have any toys and how sad that would be for her if she didnt have any. It would like really touch her heart and she would go and get toys to give away. My son is just learning about this as this was the first time I said anything to him about it. It bothered me knowing a perfectly good toy had to be thrown in the garbage when some other kid could have played with it. But I cant really get upset over it I mean hes 3 he didnt really understand. It made for a pretty funny story anyway.

Lol, I would grab it out. I've fished so much stuff out of the toilet that it isn't even funny. I always figure I can just wash my hands and it will be all good. Funny thing that if it comes from the mouth I'm so grossed out about it, but the other end doesn't bother me nearly as much. Once I was at a friend's mom's house and got a little sick number 2. For some reason she had carpet in her bathroom and the toilet overflowed because the toilet paper clogged it up. I was on my hands and knees frantically clawing the toilet paper out of the toilet! Luckily my friend's dad took care of overflowing toilets for a living and was able to save the day. And I scrubbed my hands and went home and showered. That's what soap and water is for, right?

Oh my god I would have been motified. My ex was a plumber. One time he was doing work on someones house and some pipe burst on him and covered him in sh*t. It was so sick. He came home to change and I literally made him undress outside and threw his clothes in the burn pit and burned them. Really he should have been tested for hepatitis and other diseases after that but I didnt even think of it at the time.
I did pick the campervan out of the toilet but I didnt wash it over and save it. I threw it in the sanitary napkin thing lol. Ugh he has tons of cars he can live without that one that he threw in the toilet.

So cute! Maybe his thinking is that since he did not want it anymore for whichever reason, maybe another child wold not want it either.

LOL your probably right. He didnt say a single word when I said that to him so I have no idea what he was thinking of what I said. I like to teach my kids to be generous though so of course I had to throw that in there that maybe another little boy could have played with it if he didnt want it. Hes probably thinking mostly.... no way Im not letting anyone else play with my toys what is she nuts... lol

Hey :)
Well, I think you should not worry about it. Children are usually like this. When they don't answer or reply, they could be still processing the information and wondering why we ask them to do so. Just guide him through whenever you have the chance. I am sure he will be a great guy one day with your guidance :)
Happy mylotting!

Oh I'm not really worried about it. The whole thing was pretty funny especially the part where he pointed his little finger at me and glared and told me he was mad that I went pee pee on his toy like it was my fault lol. I wonder if he thought that it would flush right down the toilet. It was way to big there was no way that would happen but he probably thought it would flush down like the baby wipes and everything else.
