Do you think so? I think the diploma means that you have a homologous ability that could earn your living. The different diploma means different ability. By the way, which university do yo study?

For me, a diploma is just a paper that states what kind of education that you received as a person but it does not necessary reflect what learning or lessons you achieved during your schooling. True, the diploma is the easiest reference you can have for a job or a career but the essence (your learning) of your schooling should be reflected in your skills and actions. Diploma is just a paper that states that you completed an education, learning is putting that education into use and practical means. Also, learning does not necessarily be confined to what degree you took or completed, it should reflect on your purpose, your work ethic and your mission and vision in life.

No its not just for a diploma. There are so many things that attaining that means. It means hire-ability, a new way to market yourself to a prospective employer, its a part of life that one dearly misses when they dont get to participate in attaining one. It becomes your identity. It gives self worth and self esteem. You go out into the world more confident. Its the difference between poverty and making it. People dont understand that without a degree life is so much harder. No matter the country, a diploma means prestige. Respect. It is never just for a diploma. Its for an improved life.

oh no it has to be learning for a lifetime not just for a diploma iof yu do not have the knowledge to do your job if you are hired for that diploma which is just a piece of paper. knowledge has to be in your brain and your heart and has to be able to be used every day'to help you to feed yourself and move ahead and care for a family bye and bye. heres to know what you learn for a lifetime.

In a sense yes, it is for getting a diploma. However, that is not the only thing. There is going to be knowledge that could help us move through life and succeed and thrive in this world. Then again, you could also argue that with formal schooling, it is only the beginning of the education that is life and the diploma is just a stepping stone.

When you go to look for a job, checking up your diploma is the fastest and maybe the only way the companies have got to check up if you really passed the studies which are necessary for the job you are looking for or they are offering to you. Could you imagine if every company would have to check every employer or interested in a special job about his or her knowledge if he or she is really prepared to realize a special work? Impossible! But you are not only studying to get the diploma. The knowledge is still more important than a piece of paper. The paper can be lost, burnt, stolen... but not your knowledge which is for ever and helps you in your live, not only in a work. As more you can learn, better for you and easier will be your life.

Well, it actually depends on your intention or purpose of life. If earning financial stability is your only aim in life, then you will probably consider learning as a way to get a diploma so that you can show off your qualification to get a high paying job. But if you take learning as an effective way to become smarter and wiser, then you should forget about the diploma and learn for the sake of learning itself. If you believe in this kind of philosophy, you will not only get the best out of your learning but you will also enjoy your study. You will only focus on studying and worry less about the score.
