Are you driving slower now that gas is going up?

I am. I have an hour and a half commute to work. Luckily I only have to drive it twice a week and the other day when I was going home I drove slower. I usually drive 5-10 miles over the limit on the highway. If the speed limit is 55 I do 65. If it's 65 I do 70 but coming home the other day I drove 60 when it's 55 and 65 when it's 65 because gas is about $3 a gallon where I live.

You probably saved a cent or two on your journey. Do you have your A/C turned on by default? Do you always remove your roof bars when you aren't actually use them? Do you make sure to use the brakes as little as possible (by always driving at the speed the road and conditions require and by using engine braking whenever possible)?
Petrol is about twice the price here that it is in your country. I save fuel prices by simply not using the car unless it's unavoidable. We have good public transport (which is free for me), so if I want to go the three miles into town or go to the supermarket, I take the bus or walk. If I had to go anywhere regularly (such as to work), I would arrange a car-share.

I would not say that I am driving slower. However, I am driving less, much less. However, I barely drive as is. So the point is rather moot. Still I might just drive a bit more slowly. Of course, why drive slowly, when I can avoid driving and walk when it is plausible. It also adds in getting exercise and that is really killing two birds with one stone. Saving money and getting fit.
