Hellow, I just ask for some tips to study better in home, because I'm in a psychology college and sometimes it's dificult to concentrate and takes too long to study all the stuff I need to learn. How many time I have to be studing? How many stops? How many time must be the stops if there are? I have to be studing a week before the exam? two? What you would do in my situation?

1. Make sure you have no "loose ends" before studying (i.e. unfinished chores, fight with a friend) as they rob you of concentration. If you can, try to fix them beforehand. 2. Time yourself for about 45 minutes of uninterrupted study time. This might mean turning of your cellphone and email. The moment you get distracted by a ringing phone, you lose precious minutes. 3. Take a 20 minute break after the 45 minutes. 4. Repeat until you're satisfied with the amount of time you have spent studying ")

Thank you all, I liked all comments but this one is the best for me. Because I have always distractions like these and there are good ideas, and I like the 20 minute breaks you talk about, I feel when I'm in about 45 minutes I'm beginning to have less concentration. So, for my mind, this is the best strategy, but all comments are very useful!

Well it depends on my mood whether I like to study or not. Sometime I only prepare for about an hour of the exam and I still get good grades. I can easily memorize things and I review them everytime I have a chance. Also when you study, avoid distractions so you can study well.

Thank you, yes. The problem I have alot of times are distractions. But you mean college studies? in one hour you memorize all? I even don't have time to read all in one hour! (don't meaning memorizing even)

There are two real important things about studying. One you must study every day even if there is technically no assignment. You can read or reread notes, rewrite your notes, look up terms anything like that but do something every day. The other thing is to take frequent breaks. I would say you'll have to experiment to see what works for you but probably about every hour take a fifteen minute break. And don't study for more than three hours back to back. Break it up some depending on your schedule.

I don't know if any of my advice will help you, but I have been in college for almost 7 and 1/2 years now (got my Bachelor's in Chemistry and am working on my Doctor of Pharmacy degree). What helps me is to change subjects and/or study methods every 15-20 minutes. The change allows me to shake off the boredom so that my mind is excited - without taking long breaks in between. I'd take a five-minute break every 45 minutes or so just to take a short trip to the bathroom or get something to eat. It also helps to make sure that you study in the same (non-distracting) place on a semi-regular schedule... your brain notices this routine and when you go there it helps ready your mind for studying. Take the time to exercise and eat healthy - I think some of my peers get in a rut with how much stress they are in; taking time to exercise and do activities I enjoy help me to enjoy life while still working hard. I hope some of this helps! :)

The interval between your study and break all depends on how much you should learn within a certain period. I suggest you some points as follows:1. You should make a review plan, and do a checklist about your plan, including contents of chapters, knowledge points. 2. Calculating your daily studying efficiency, e.g. you can grasp ten knowledge points and review three chapters a day. 3. The MOST IMPORTANT: reflecting the commitment! Wish you can get high marks in your exam!~~

To increase your memorization skill you could try my easy steps. Before you sleep at night try to recall all of the things you did for the whole day.Even the single detail you could ever think of. The color of the shoes you wore. The no. of rides you took to go home. All the the things that you can remember that you did that day. After that, drink atleast one glass of water. Water can help you process what you had in memory. Day by day you'll see that your mind is not like usual.
