What are the mylot tricks that works for you in your adventures here in mylot? Well right now I will share things that works for me for a long time, ever since the old account of mine that I deleted due to a bug...a bug that is replaced by another bug in my own account, Oh well....moving on here are the tricks that works for me.
1.create a discussion that is tailor made for your friends, check the interest for your mylot friends, if you share an interest, make a discussion tailor made for that friend of your, Promise you can have a good quality discussion with your friend alone, You will enjoy it.
2. If you want people to read your whole topic, dont ask questions in your title... Why.... they will just answer the question in your title and not read what the discussion is about.
3. I know there are times you dont want a certain type of people to participate your discussion.lets say you created a topic about your favorite food and celebrate it, Lets say teh topic is about your favorite seafood, everything is fun until this person participates and say " i dont like seafood, its gross" Its a Debbie downer.
If you want a discussion that only seafood lovers will enjoy put disclaimers like (for sea food lovers only) disclaimers work. just do it the nice way.
But if you are open to the comments of the haters of things you love, dont disclaimers.
4. if you ran out of discussions and all the discussions available are not your liking, comment at the news and blogs.
5. dont participate in discussions where you have no idea about and discussions you dont like so you wont piss off people and people wont give you a (-) or remove you in friend list.

Wow, These tricks are pretty nice and I am sure these must have helped u a lot. I will surely try it out and try to participate as much as possible. You have only given Tips about Posting Discussions, I feel that you must also give advises on how to give Quality and better Posts cause we all know that we can earn a lot of money by replying to other people's Discussion too.

As long as your participation is full of heart, the comment makes sense and has relevance to the topic, then that participation of yours will have a quality, if the thread started and you were able to create discussion chains, its a good thing, because we are here to talk.

a tip so you wont run out of ideas. Since you dont use your picture as an avatar and nobody knows who you are, make mylot your diary share the things happening everyday in your life, make them discussions, For sure its very personal but personal stuff makes good discussions and people here dont know who you are anyway. People like it when you are telling the truth, they can sense if a person is lying or not, so yes, share the things happening in your life everyday, share your secrets except your real name and face.
It gets me far here

Those are great trips. I generally ask questions in my titles....so that is something that I will want to do less. It's been a while since I have been on Mylot, so I have noticed a lot of changes. Thanks for the great tips!

Mostly when you ask questions in your topics, can attract the 1 liner people. the ones who will post none sense responses and waste your time. In deed if your title is a question, they will just answer the question, not read what your topic is about and leave, It took me a year to figure that out.

These are some very helpful tips. I know I'm not the most active MyLot user, mainly because I can never think of something worthwhile to say. But these tips should (hopefully) help me to become more involved in the community and get more fun out of the whole site. Thank you very much for your advice, I definitely plan on taking it into consideration in the future on the forum.

You are anonymous anyway, you dont have your own picture as an avatar, you can share everything in your personal life and rant about them, its works for me. All of my family secrets and hidden dark thoughts that i cant discuss with the people who knows me, I confessed them all in mylot since they dont know who I am. Im sure you wont run out of topics if you will share everything about you except from your identity and location.

another effective trick, if you got stuck in the debate, dont attack the person you are discussing with so you wont end up in flame wars. Plus observe if the person likes debates or not so wont end up making enemies.
