I was just reminiscing about the first day I was looking for work. I smiled when I remember and imagine what I did before. I did a lot of walking, I don't eat at fastfoods while waiting for exams, interviews or just plain job hunting because I don't want to spend that much money since I don't have much. I have to make sure I still have something for our food, my needs and my fare on the next day of jobhunting.
I walked a lot so that I won't have to spend too much money just on fares.
When I go home I can't sleep and still go online to look for jobs online and hoping I can find that job Im looking for. I feel restless in the morning when I just have to stay in the house and wait for callback. It's hard. Especially that I have a daughter and she is not getting any younger. I remember the days when people around me especially my in laws are like looking down on me because we don't have money.
I can't forget when I have to like hurry walking because I don't want them to see me in the road while they are sitting comfortably on a taxi. I felt so bad when they ask my husband to go with them because they are going to to a parlor and I don't get invited because I won't come either if they do.They hated me.
A lot of things changed when I got my first real job. It was heaven. I was so thankful. I will never forget the hardships and the cryings and the walkings and the "not eatings" moment of my life while looking for a job. How about you guys?

remember my first time looking for a job, spend so much hours to send and waiting interview and only get "not credible with our company" its make me worry to see my future, sometimes i ask to my self (how i can get my future life better,do i precious ?) until i get my first time job with small salary... (some times my gasoline run out when i going to my office, sadly i can buy it even a liter because i don't have money in my pocket so i left my motorcycle in nearest gas station n walk for 5 km to my office n try to lend money from my friend...) but i still believe can get better salary n get much money for the next time
until a year come..... i decided to resign from the previous job n applying for government office with good salary n facilities and they reply "congratulation you preferred work in government) i so happy n my sadly live end... up to now i still working in.. n run a small business to gain much money

It's really hard to find a job that you think will be perfect for you. Here in our country (Philippines), it is somehow hard to find a job. Lots of patience and perseverance are needed. I have read in some forums about newly graduates who find it hard looking for a job.
For newly graduates, it is necessary to accept the first job that will be offered to them. Why? Because they will gain experience that will catch their next employment. It is good to have an experience at work. From then on, job hunting will not be that hard. It is also good to have accomplishments on previous companies.

I agree with you. I am a nursing graduate and a Registered Nurse here in our country, I wanted to pursue my course but there's just isnt any vacancy.. And if there is I still have to pay them for working or volunteering. I looked for other choices. That's why I got hired in a BPO company...

I remember when I went to look for my first jobs and it was at a time when you could get fired or laid off for any reason, like your hair did not look in place (I did not have a car so could not go into the job from the car without getting wet), your hair a s the wrong color or you were not tall and slender.
There was no internet, most of the jobs went to who knows who and if you did not fit the physical qualifications you were relegated to the back room. Even in business school, you did not get the electronic typewriters, the forerunners of the computer keyboards, you had to use the manual so I took a long time getting a job and not only did you have to wait for a phone, you had to go back again to find out
I was glad when I got married and I could work at home instead going from a secretary to a steno to a file clerk and the inbetween jobs was working in a candy factory, piling boxes, I was one of the many underemployed

It's sad to know there's a lot of people that are unemployed. Hope there is more vacancy this coming year..
