Say you were cooking a meal one night for dinner and you made enough for dinner and for you and your spouse enough left over to take in your lunches the next day for work, and you were very tired and you asked your significant other can you pleas put the food up after you are done? Maybe because you were tired and had to get up earlier than them and he or she forgot to put it up so the food sat put all night, and in the morning they said it was okay make me a lunch anyway? Do you think that is still safe to eat? The next day after sitting out all night?

It definitely would depend on the meal. For example, left over bacon would not worry me as much as left over eggs...However, if someone knows the state of the food, and they understand how long it has been out, and it has been cooked, then I think there is more freedom on this topic than many believe. Besides, if you are okay with making them lunch, and they request leftovers (whether or not they have been sitting out) then I'd probably give them what they asked for. Too much food that doesn't need to be wasted is....and if the food item is like something you'd have sitting out for hours during the holidays, then it is probably safe to let sit out at home too. Although, the strength of the consumer's immune system might need to be considered. A tough horse like my boyfriend would have no issue with food left out overnight, but some people have queasier stomachs...

Okay thanks I think my husband has an iron stomach!! And I really hate wasting food! Every time I cook for him when he gets home he says I'm not hungry I ate all day at the shop, that makes me so mad!!!!! Then he says I will eat later and I end up going to sleep before him and the food id=s almost always left out and it really bothers me!!

There are certain factors I would consider first and one would be the type of food it is as some things you cannot eat after it was sitting even after a few hours. The other factor is how warm it was in the kitchen as well where the food sat, as if it was to warm for instance and the food sat there it would spoil. I know I have forgotten beans over night and the next day it was spoiled rotten.

I would have to say that if the kitchen temperature setting was not too hot, I could risk eating all you mentioned. However if the chicken and or the ground beef were sauteed in sauce and the kitchen temperature was hot then I would have to toss it.

it really depends on the food... if it is still in a good condition and not rotten, why not??? i will still eat them... it is a sin to waste food and i try my very best not to do that... but i am very careful with meat especially during summer... if it had been sitting out for the whole night, most probably i have to throw it away the next day as it will turn bad the next day... take care and have a nice day...

As has been stated, it really depends upon the type of food that's been left out. When I was a kid at family gatherings, the food set out on the table (covered) from lunch til dinnertime and we all lived to eat another day. I've eaten food that has been left out overnight. (Pizza is really good the next morning.) However, people with a weak stomach or who have various digestion problems might want to reconsider before they load up on left out leftovers.

It depends on what kind of food was left on the table all night. Some food can withstand to be put all night without being spoiled and some food cannot. If the food isn't spoiled at all you can just heat it up and eat it. But then if it's not then better throw it away. My mother told me to never throw food away coz it would bring bad luck since food is considered a blessing from God, but it's a different story when it's a spoiled one.

I think is depend on the food and the wealther,if the food sat put all nignt in the winter,it's ok,the air temperature og the winter is like a refrigerator, hihi,so it's safe to eat.but if you put the food all nignt in Summer day,Oh,my God,i's so terriable to see and smell the food when you wake up on the morning, not to speak of to eat! hihi, hope you can have a good lunch everyday, and merry Christmas in advance!
