Wowow you make it so simple. I agree but in this way terrorists are not bad guys every time. Your principal is trying to do some good for students and he needs to keep control on everyone so he is a good terrorist. hahahhah enjoy man, i like your logic.

Hi rockydam..you have a very good question here, however, I think that the heros were called extremists. There is a difference although their methods are similar. An extremist goes to extreme and sometimes violent lengths to get their point across...much like the terrorist except for a couple of things. An extremist attacks people that are against their cause and usually practicing something that is so unacceptable that they feel it is the only choice. A terroist attacks innocent people that have nothing to do with their cause except to scare the people that are into backing down and/or following them. The innocent people die for nothing.

They might become role models and that's frightening.

I think it entirely depends on the cause or intention. There are people who fought the British Empire, because they believed that's necessary to liberate the people from foreign rule. There are extreme patriots who joined the struggle for India's independence. But history proves that independence earned through violence can never settle a welfare state. When Jacobins took hold of France, they resorted to terrorism. We call that the Reign of Terror. Violence has its momentum. When you start it, it takes time to finish. If you attach violence to your cause, the violence will be continued even when your cause cease to exist. We are superior beings, so we should not use violence to resolve a situation like the inferior creatures do. What's the use of intelligence if it's not used for good and welfare? Today's terrorists have a very weak cause. They mainly preach on the grounds of religion. The strangest thing is that, they have no qualm to kill their own people just to serve their vague cause. They can be considered role models by violent and eccentric youths, but they will be wiped away from the pages of history even may be during their lifetimes.

If innocent people die as a result of their actions, to me they're terrorists. I don't care if they had the noblest of purposes. Unfortunately, history has a tendency to be very generous with these people, and wipe out their crimes if they won their struggles. Historians sometimes think that the sacrifice of human lives is a necessary evil to achieve change in society. But great things can be done by peaceful means. Just look at Gandhi - he's a true hero in my opinion.

Terrorism today seems obscure to the public. We are told one thing yet there are discrepancies that are hard to ignore such as the family relations between the Bush and Bin laden families. Its just astonishing how obvious these things are. So its hard to say who is the terrorist in my opinion. Now on the other hand imagine being from a nation that has been tossed around by the united states and you grew up watching people get killed and injured. Wouldn't you want a piece of your enemy? Oppression can be a Beetch.

You have a good point, it is very hard to say how we will view these people in the future. Very interesting question!

My friend based on your topic title terrorists are those people against government and fighting for their own ideology not for the people sake. There are many people around the world sometimes wrongly pointed finger as terrorists but in many people they are heroes... see you around
