I am finally glad that there is closure to this long political struggle. There are so many in the armed forces who have been living a lie for so very long. I am a heterosexual woman but I have a gay niece who is in the military and just happy that she doesn't have to be subjected to this anymore. My belief is that the armed forces is just like any other profession. There are gays in politics, Corporate America, etc. People should be comfortable where they work in order for them to be the most productive. What are your thoughts?

In the end, I really think that it does not matter what you are or what you're preferences are. If you are an abled bodied person who wants to defend this country, then go for it. I think some people really need to look at the bigger picture and see that it is the year 2010. Its hard to believe that there are still a lot of people with closed minded, medieval beliefs.
