how to become a successful leader?

I am confused as a leader how to control the team and to make teamers positively do their tasks .and the boss will get the more benefits ,we all could get what we deserve.but I also be disappointed by the not good result ,the headaching statistics' data.

leadership is not control. it never was. leadership is about motivating the followers to carry out tasks. a leader should never ever supervise. they have to join the followers to give the followers a sense of belonging. if you control them by yelling or shouting, they lose respect. if someone does something wrong, warn him sternly and do not immediately go wild. inform him of the severity of the mistake and say "one more time and you will know how loud a tiger can roar". this is what i always say to my men. never think that you are of a higher level than them. but one important thing is never joke often. once in a while is ok. too much and you lose respect. hope this helped.

thank you for your reply .I have tried the methods that you have posted .and it is effective but there is anther question :my co-workers are not very amazed by my actions and the attitudes.sigh,it is hard to manage the company as a leader.

hello, A good leader is a good follower and a good listener. Listen to your team,asks for their opinion and solicit their thoughts and thinking. Gather all opinion and make debate what's best to fit and suit your team. At least that gives your team the notion that you are not acting as boss,but also a part of their team. Followers like a team leader that is not bossy all the time,they want a boss that knows how to handle them,understand them as a follower. Being a good leader is to show them that you are always with them,to support and not to let them down for your own benefit. My supervisor is one of the best supervisor. She knows how to handle our team. She's kind of strict when it comes to work,but during huddle (team meeting) She always asks about our opinion,and listen to us. Then we will talk what's the best to do,and where to focus first to resolve issue one at a time. That makes her a an effective leader to us. She always make us feel important,rather than making her important as our boss/leader. Happy Holiday

maybe you are right ,but it sounds like contradictory when you are a listener and a follower at the same time .how did you do that and have a good action .
