It was during a health conference that this professor shared that we are what we eat. It was an interesting story which he shared. It was about how a housewife who found it so hard to cook the food which her husband liked to eat. Whatever, she cooked her husband would not eat so she was so fed up after a few years. Until one day she decided to cook her cat's canned food and see how her husband reacted when he ate it. To her surprise, he liked the food so much that he praised her and loved her more from that day onwards. She was so happy that she could not help telling her neighbour about her secret. But she neighbour told her not to give such food to her husband as he would die eating it but she insisted that it was fine as her husband was so happy eating it and she was happy too. But after a few months, her husband died. Her neighbour confirmed that it was the cat's food that killed him but she confessed that her husband actually died after a fall from the roof while chasing after a rat. So the professor concluded that we are what we eat. Do you agree with him?

That's really a strange story. So, the husband in the story is a cat actually? That's weird. But I do agree that we are partially what we eat. Because the food that we eat, we are somehow transformed so that we are partially like the food that we eat. In this interesting story, possibly because her husband ate too much cat food, which make himself thinking himself a cat. Therefore, he ended up falling down from the roof while in the pursuit of the rats. Just kidding actually. But it's true to the extent that the food that we ate could affect our health being. If we take lot of oily food, the fat can accumulate in our body easily. That's why people say, we will be what we eat.

Oh gosh, I'm afraid that I would become a butterfly or bee For I take honey every night before going to bed. If so I would rather to be a bee as I'm quite scared of caterpillar. Thanks a lot for the interesting story as well as the valuable health info sharing here It's a special christmas gift. Merry Christmas to all my friends here

Hi Ketping8889, I think there are a lot of people who won't bother to improve their diet. They just take healthy life for granted. Well, I do not need to see the diseased patients in order to be grateful of my own health. I am happy that I am implementing a healthy diet now. Hi lkbooi, thanks for joining the fun of this discussion. I like honey too, but don't take it that often. So I suppose I won't become a bee or butterfly then LoL. Happy posting and have a nice day!

Hi ketping8889, apparently it won't be monotonous for sure for you all to have such a humorous professor during the health conference. From the sharing of the interesting story with us here I could imagine everyone was on top of the would after hearing the fantastic story then. I realize that the story emphasizes the point to maintain sharp vigilance not to indulge in taking the same unhealthy food which is not good for our health excessively, though it's so delicious and suit our appetite very much. If keep on taking the same unhealthy and non-nutritious food for a long time, it might bring undesirable effect to our health. if becoming an energetic cat still could live a happy life, but how sad and unfortunate it would be if any fatal or incurable disease takes a fancy to one who always takes yummy food which is not good for health. Yeah, the cool professor advised us to take healthy and nutritious foods which are goof for our health through an interesting story. if we don't want to be what we are (cat or ...), remember to take only healthy and nutritive food all the time. Happy Christmas

Hi lkbooi, you are right. This brillant professor had used this story to illustrate his messages and he had made our day so much lighter. Frankly, the medical issues discussed during that conference were very theoretical. You are also brillant enough to highlight all the points which the professor had emphasized, accurately and precisely. I kept the conclusion open to all participants of my discussion and you have done very well indeed, lkbooi. Yes, absolutely!! Take healthy and nutritious food everyday! Our health is our wealth! Thank you for your contribution as you have shared your knowledge and helps others realise this invaluable knowledge and adds quality to their life simply by being healthy!! Have a great day! Wishing you and your family a Happy New Year '2011.

I am quite confused with the moral of the story, because for first time I am hearing this story and first time I came to know that teacher can tell such a story to the students. If I think with a logical mind then I conclude that the food was not good for the health of the man and that was dangerous for him. Then you say that his wife said that he fell from the roof. This is a kind of police case. Police must have inquired the case to find the truth, that is what my logical mind can say about the story. There is another part which is the moral of the story where teacher is taking the conclusion to a different direction. Teacher wanted to tell the student that it is good to eat the food and praise it which your wife cook for you, even if you don't like it otherwise you will get the same fate.

haha.it's funny story. well, i agree with him. just like my brother, he doesn't want to eat vegetables, it makes his body not healthy and his skin not smooth. if we eat healthy food we'll be health. if we eat junk food, we'll be fat (cause it has too many fats and cholesterol). etc.

Thanks, evelyntree. Glad you got that message too. Would be good if your brother eats healthy food and has healthy body with smooth skin like yours.

Very interesting story and rightly said statement. We are definitely what we eat. If we eat junk we look and think like junk. If we eat healthy, we look and think healthy. This is one of the most meaningful statments on earth.

Hi ketping: I think this was a funny story. I think that people says that "we are what we eat" because if we eat unhealthy food we will be unhealthy. If we just eat fat we will get fat, etc. The meaning of this statement is that we should chose carefully what we eat because we need to take care for our own health. ALVARO

Bravo! Starsailover. You got it right. Yes, the professor was trying to tell us that we are what we eat. Healthy people eat healthy food. Since, you got the message so fast, may I know if you do actually choose your food carefully? Thanks for your participation and Merry Christmas to you & your family.
