Do you have an account with one of those online banks?

I just wonder, besides those giant mega banks and Community unions, do you also deposit money on those online banks, such as everbank, or INGdirect? I have check those online banks with bankrate.com. Everbanks would pay a slightly higher interest even in checking account than those saving accounts we have with regular banks. But the minimum deposit will be $1,500. Which I don't have. On INGdirect is one of the best choice for me, because its checking doesn't have minimum balance requirement. I might transfer some of that money to Ingdirect to earn some interest. I am not a high risk taker, so, earning interest from the banks can be one of my best options.

I was looking into an online bank to link my paypal account to, this was when i was making about 50 a month online through selling on ebay, and survey sites, but then decided against it. It just seemed too impersonal. I have a good relationship with my bank, and i can do most of it online. I too am not a great risk taker. I have put money in bonds, which earns a steady interest rate, higher than the current ones at the banks. I am doing the same for my child. Right now I have to rebuild my rainy day account, because we had our rainy day in the form of medical bills.

I have read their higher interest rates are worth the risks. Tell me if it works out for you please.
