We cannot deny the fact that people who can communicate in English fluently find it easier to find a good paying job. A lot of job opportunities which offers good pay require excellent communication skills. I just want to ask how do you learn to speak English fluently? I believe not everything was learned from school, since two people who have graduated in same school don not possess same skills in communication.

Hey Mayrah, you want to improve your english speaking skills, you got to listen to real native speakers, You can start using listening & answering exercises, coz they are so uch help for any beginner. When i was studying at university, we had a class called " phonetics ", which means how syllables & english words are spoken, it was great class to learn the rules of english speaking. Another simple task you can do it by yourself Mayrah, if you don't have a partner or you are too shy to do that with someone, haha, is to listen to english tapes or recordings & repeat what they say loudly. It's really helpfull to do that if you tend to become an english speaker.

Hi dear, It is not so simple. First, the desire to learn it. Know the language better, find how other are speaking, be a good listener, observe many such speech, understand how the impressive people speaks, body language, knowledge about the subject or awareness of what you are talking, simple way of presentation, understand the audience or who is listening your words, a decent vocabulary, understand the basic usage of English (the structure), and many more. Hard work will help for it. Even though you don't have a base on English, inter act with children will help a lot. Communicate with children of all age groups. It will make you sudden and drastic improvement. If possible, record your conversation and replay it and you can assess your own presentation. You yourself will find out what all are the good features and what are need to change and how to improve it. Again, your own interest is the best solution and a gradual effort will help you in improving it. English movies, speeches, conversations and above all, READING of all kind of boos will help you it. Especially, novels and discussion type of conversions also will help for it. If you get time, be alone and read little loudly it will make fast improvement. Try, I am sure you can do it. Thank-s

First you must understand English, the way it works and the people you will be communicating with are also important. In communication you must be able to hear what the other person is saying and make sure you understood what has been said.

Practice should be the easiest way to learn a new foreign language. Reading and starting to write is the most basic step, and MyLot can help you greatly, it sort of forces us to at least read and write. And if you can start thinking in english, you've made a great progress. Listen to it is a great help too. Maybe some movies in english with subtitles to guide would be great, and then try to repeat it to practice your speak.

For me, it primarily depends on your exposure to the language itself. I'm a wide reader and that benefits me by being exposed to the language more effectively and efficiently in the language than other methods. Also, I watch a lot of American produced shows so I'm aware of how Americans speak and interact with each other. Trying to communicate in a second language is quite difficult but can be accomplished with hard work and practice.

I'm not fluent, but was able to learn how to properly pronounce the word. I grew up watching english programs and music videos, I think those helped me to be confident with the way I communicate now. Also read....even if reading is not my number one favorite to do list, reading is a powerful method to learn new words and will definitely expand your vocabulary.

Emglish is so important today. And you are right, if you are good at it, it is easy for you to find a good job. I still believe that practice makes the perfect. If you often speak in English and you are not afraid making mistakes, soon you will make a good progress. I love China

A end of mine told me that the only way to learn english so you will be able to speak better is to listen to radio stations uses the language. Read english books, watch english films. Basically, that is just it. Be familiar with the language and soon you will be seeing yourself speaking english confidently.

You must have the willingness to learn English outside of school as well. Learning at school will only get you to a certain level and it's up to the person to really immerse into a language. Examples are watching television shows in English and when there are subtitles displayed concentrate only on the spoken English. Read books on English. When you hear or read idiom write it down and look up the meaning of it. Fluency, for me, does not mean knowing all idiom and words. For me it means knowing enough words and enough about grammar rules to have a decent conversation in which you can express your feelings.

Just practice speaking it. If you could find a native English speaker to converse with, then talk with him/her as often as possible and that would increase your confidence. I believe Filipinos are really good in English; it's just that they're not confident enough to speak it.

My firm belief is that all Filipinos who have finished high school, where English is the medium of instruction, have been given good foundation for English communication skills. Fluency in English conversation only needs to be developed through constant use in every situation and in every purpose.

Often we ask why it is hard once you learn English? It is natural for many years I, I do not speak English or speak in English even though most only a few sentences can be and I'm not PD (Confidence) and feel my English is wrong and not true so I always do not use English and prefer to stay silent than my embarrassment. I also have tried to take English courses at institutions English or English Language Institute that provides a variety of courses such as English Conversation Home, General Home, Business Home, TOEFL with a variety of Home Training Program offered. And the result of the Program Home Course that I took was very surprised I got a pretty good score (it turned out I did not fool a fool in the use of English). But I was not able to use English yes ... It makes me frustrated and feeling insecure.

I've been with the call center industry for quite some time now and learning English is really fun but requires HARD WORK. English language have a lot of vowel sounds compared to us Filipinos who only have 5. You can actually use online tools like merriam-webster.com and listen to pronunciation of words. You can also expose yourself to the English language by watching English movies or TV programs or reading English books. These will help you familiarize with the language itself.
